What have you done to your mustang today?

No work on the car today, we are having a surprise party for my dad. He is 100 today.

Put some new wheels and sensors on it yesterday. I like them, but I'm not as crazy about them as I thought I'd be. Kinda miss the Bullitts, but I'm happy that I don't have to deal with some of the problems that came with the Bullitts and running Brembos. The more I look at them though, the more they grow on me.

I'm working on cobbling together the new center caps with the old.

I think it looks really good and clean!

Off road pipes were starting to be too loud so I put the stock cats back on....now it's too damn quite!!! I go back and forth like every other month.


Would an aftermarket spun style cat be a happy medium?

You live in Florida why would you want all-seasons?

Probably because the summer consists of daily monsoons. There's no way you can drive on summer tires in the summer in Florida. You will lose your ass faster than you can say "all-season tires."

It's not the volume that bothers me, it's the tone. I have hi-flows on that I just reluctantly took off. My car sounds better with cats but gotta get rid of them. I bought some old school Cherry Bombs that I'm gonna weld in there and see if I can't tame the tone a bit. I'll let you know how that works.

I guess you're right it's more of the tone and the rasp.

Every muffler I get sounds nothing like the YouTube clips. Not even remotely close I'm really baffled.

With o/r pipes it's super raspy and with cats it just sounds muffled like I put a plug at the exhaust tip or something.

Just a thought and suggestion.
If your running an X-Pipe change to the H-Pipe as it has a deeper sort of sound not raspy.

At least that's the way it is on the S-197 Mustangs.

I put an x pipe on mine and it was very raspy. Switched back to H and all is well.

I do know that listening to other Mustangs there is a difference between the two though.

I have to agree with this. x-pipes go better with a chambered muffler and will give you more of a raspy sound, while h-pipes are more suited for a straight through muffler and will sound deeper and have more of a "muscle car" tone to it IMO. I had a lot of different exhaust setups on my previous sn97 cobra and the best one I found was an o/r h-pipe with magnaflows.

Took my Maximum Motorsports 6pt. roll bar and FRPP Rear Seat Delete X-brace to the powder coater today.

About time to start install/assemble this $20k stack of parts I've been building up.

Gonna mock up my brand new leather Recaro's this week. Get everything in order there while I wait for powder coat parts. Remove seats, install parts, final install of seats.

Guess I'll throw my FORE fuel pump in while all that's disassembled.

Nope.

You need to PM me, refresh my memory what I need to do to them to get electronics to work. Also, I think you mentioned pulling a bladder or something from the original passenger seat and popping in the Recaro?
