new plan, sell the v6 and buy a Shelby LOL

This actually isn't a bad plan. Keep the GT for the build platform since doing a build with a V6 would involve a V8 swap anyways and just sell that and get the Shelby. Win win!

I think the V6 has more sentimental value.

I still think build the 05 GT. if you spend $30K to $45k on a Shelby, you'll still be dealing with depreciation (again). Unless you're looking for a 2007-2009 and find a steal well below $30K. I'd imagine a GT500 that's 10-15 years old would settle in around $20K-$25K in value (looking into the future).

Bingo. Lots of memories made and lessons learned in that car... both good and bad!

Yes!

Or better yet, sell both the 3v and the sixxer, and get a nicer/newer gt500, and just have one car to upkeep/maintain.

That idea has merit!

I've thought about this too. I know it's only a little sixxer but I hate to send my first car down the road if I don't have to. I'd like to do the father-son project and hand it down someday.

A friend brought this up to me today... could a Mineral Gray 05 GT be considered "collectible" someday? First year of the retro style, and only year of that color. He says yes, I tend to think there were too many produced to become rare.

Thanks guys for your all your input, I'm really appreciating it! Makes me stop and think for sure.
