Ok I've tried several brands now and they all needed tweaking and a lot of elbow grease. Seriously WTF? Is it my car or do all exhaust brands fitment suck on these cars???

And also it may fit perfectly on someone's car and not on mine?!

^ What Abdulla said. Best thing to do is have one individual loosen the OTA pipe (to the midpipe) and then another on the muffler to adjust it properly.

Welcome to installing aftermarket exhaust on any car.

Nope, my last few cars which consisted of imports (Japanese and German) the aftermarket exhausts fit like gloves, even the cheapo eBay ones fit good.

I think I hate slip joints, just too much adjustments.

I have tried the Magnaflow, MAC Boom Tubes, Flowmasters and the FRPP GTA's. The worst fitting were the magnaflows. They were the most expensive as well. The best fitting were the GTA's. Loosening at the midpipe is what helps adjust the height of the tip out of the rear bumper cover.

Yea the best fitting ones were the OEMs lol, so I would hope frpp should fit the same.

I've tried Magnaflow, Pypes, Mac, JBA and now SLP and so far all of the were fitting little bit off and needed a lot of adjusting.

I don't know about Borla as I've never tried one yet.

I could get them adjusted just fine, but then it would cause a small exhaust leak further upstream that drove me insane. I finally gave up.

Ford/Borla, Corsa and SLP have never given me issues.

Roush (full catback), Magnaflow and Bassani are usually the ones that give me headache.

The axlebacks I was fine with. But their cat backs are crap. One my friends/coworkers has that kit on his 05, only 1 year old, and it keeps needing to be tightened and after one winter it's starting to show quite a bit of surface rust. I've sold quite a bot of them to our GT500 customers and I continuously hear about rattling as well.

I just installed a quad tip kit on a 15 with the resonator delete and it was hands down the most cookie-cutter kit I've ever come across. Needed to hack up that whole rear valence and then cut pipes and weld shit.

My OEM muffler was seriously crooked on the driver's side, I remember looking at the tailpipe as I waited for the sales lady to type up the papers when I was buying it, and a weekend or so later popping the muffler off at my dad's and bending everything to suit. I had to modify my FRPP muffler exactly the same way - reason: the car is buggered up, and the hangers aren't where they should be.

So much heating and bending on the hangers. Looks not bad now.

its the slip joints, the over the axle pipes also can be moved and change the angle of the axlebacks. If there were flanges it wouldnt be as much as an issue.

ive had to tweek every exhaust ive tried, and there have been ALOT. Before tweeking the hangers, try loosening the over the axle pipe at the h/x pipe. Then get the muffler as close to centered as you can, and tighten it back up.

The only one i havent had to mess with and fit perfect was the magnaflow im selling.

pypes = perfect :chewie:

Lol at least Pypes is cheap and can be expected. SLP and Roush not so much.

Anyways quick question, where the ota pipe meets the midpipe, are they suppose to be kissing or is there supposed to be a slight gap before clamping them on?
