Bucking on light throttle in 1st gear when cold

It's quite possible that people are talking about different symptoms but we all think that we are on the same page.

Where did you mention you had this problem for 3 full minutes in this thread?

I let it warm up a couple minutes this morning while I moved my girlfriend's son's Mach1 so I could pull out of the garage and it still bucked although not as bad as it does it on cold rainy days.

On a side note, just moving the Mach over a bit reminded me how much fun that car is too

To further elaborate what those "couple minutes" consisted of:

I started my car, walked out to the Mach, started that, fiddled with the stereo that I was trying to turn down but the volume kept going up, shut the radio off, turned it back on, tried again to lower the volume, volume went all the way up then finally started going back down, backed the car up, pulled it forward in a different spot so it was further away from the garage doors, shut it off, exited the Mach, locked it, brought its keys back into the house and hung them up where they belong, got back out to my car, slowly pulled it out of the garage, stopped, pushed the remote to close the door, slowly pulled out of the driveway while checking both ways before pulling out, then I turned out of the driveway and proceeded to accelerate in first gear, slight bucking felt until I upshifted.

Yup, quite the possibility.

Oh well, I have a new TB waiting to be installed, and the car will soon be re-tuned by a local tuner that I had no issues with when I was running his tune N/A with just a CAI, at 405/387 numbers.
There are definitely times when I wish I never modded this car beyond that.

Mine has done it since some light mods (intake and TB) and tuning. I think it is just from running rich on startup. Oddly rather than cold days, I notice mine on rather warm days, but as long as it warms up to a comfortable idle, it's fine. Still, if when I feel like brapping a cold engine a couple times like an idiot trying to show off, it gives off some nice backfire. Yeah, probably not something I should admit to. Yeah, probably not something I should admit to.

I know mine is lean because the a/f gauge bottoms out completely and the car basically dies. More throttle cleans it up, and then I blow the tires off with the tires and engine stone cold and bystanders wonder what the heck is wrong with that guy!

An overly rich condition can cause a false lean condition. If the mixture is so rich that it's not burning all the available oxygen the O2 sensor picks up on the oxygen. Remember, O2's read oxygen and that's it.

Well, the GF's car didn't start doing it until the last round of mods ('13 TVS, '13 injectors, and of course the 123mm JLT), so that's why I kinda started blaming the JLT.
A quick Google search and I found others that were blaming their JLT intakes, but those threads were older and on other forums.

My car started doing it last year and only on cold wet mornings, at least that's when I started noticing it.


Kinda good (I guess) to see that even stock cars are doing it, even though it kinda sucks that it's happening at all.

Guess I'll try cleaning my car's TB, even though I cleaned the Shelby's during the TVS install and the problem's still happening.

I was instructed to let mine warm-up before trying to drive off in it.
So I just watched the temp gauge and as soon as it moves off the left any I know it's good to go.
