lol okay, so I just did a 3rd gear 2k to 4k rpm pull for lito, tires broke loose halfway through LOL scary. i had traction ctrl on so no big deal. this cold weather doesnt make for good traction.

also wtf 4k rpms my boost gauge hit 20psi, I thought I'd be maxing out at like 16 lol christ

If I lived in an inspection state that is what I would be doing.

Yeah I ordered an offroad H from AM, the swap really isnt all that bad. I'll get it inspected here this week or next week then swap em out.
That said, I sure hope it doesn't sound like ass. I keep hearing it gets a lot louder, I don't mind loud per say, but I like low, deep sound, not high pitch raspy ass lol

You may need to add in some resonators between the X and the rear axle. Stagger them slightly. I ran Borla Touring along with resonators and it was almost too loud but sounded great.

Wow, that's a TON of boost. Maybe because it's so cold out???? What's your pulley combo on the blower again and how fast are you spinning the motor?

Are you on e85 or gas?

93 gas. 2.65 pully with the 10% OD balancer with the 2.3 TVS it has 5.8 and SVT cast into the top of the blower. yeah maybe because its so cold? Should be stock compression around 9.8. Losing the cats should bring it down some. I hit that at a little over 4K RPM so yeah I'm a little concerned what I'll be seeing at 6k

Yeah I'll have to see how she sounds.

You're spinning that blower for all its worth, which is a LOT.

I forgot about the cats. That will drop a few psi. Do you have long tubes?

That sucker should be making some steam!! You should be about 650 I would think.

Well just fixed a small antifreeze leak, but the belt is covered. Should I pull the belt and wash it?

How can you tell when cat protection comes on?

What I call cat protection could be any of the overtemp protection for cats, exhaust temp, or valve protection. The ecu cure for a hot exhaust component is to add fuel.

You know it's happening when the wideband goes super rich at wot and it's not commanded. It's only happened to me on the dyno with gasoline. How the temps are determined is something I don't know either. SCT software says it's in the front o2 sensors but I've been told that isn't so. I do know that it doesn't happen if the rear o2 sensors are turned off. That trick was passed on to me from a local tuner some time ago.

Swapping the H pipe isn't a big deal like the op said. I run cats because I don't like being behind some knucklehead who doesn't run cats and has an exhaust that smells like unburnt hydrocarbons. Since I know how bad that smells I choose not to subject others to it. I also don't like the sound of a catless exhaust. But that's me.

So any ideas as to why I have so much boost lol. I was under the impression I'd be seeing like 17 psi at 5.8k rpm. I'm seeing 20 at 4.2k.. I'm almost afraid to go to 6k. Is this due to the smaller 4.6? Could mmr messed my cr ratio? Would a higher ratio lead to higher boost?

Boost is a measure of restriction. You may have an undiagnosed restriction somewhere. This would most likely be in the exhaust, such as a plugged cat. At this point I don't think you have much choice but to pull them and inspect them for blockage, if not eliminate them.

Okay that's good to know. I will definitely look into that.

Yeah I never figured that out to be honest. I bought the car used but it's not typical stock ones. It has ford racing stamped on them, I always figured it was some sort of ford racing axle back.

Are they the stock style canister mufflers? If so I've seen those make 2lb of boost. I've also seen them blow up.
