I'm still concerned about the knock sensors though. A local guy said they will only pickup certain frequencies so maybe my hammer and wrench test didnt pickup due to that? You would think it would throw a code if they weren't plugged in properly

Yes. It would. You can data log and see if the knock sensors are working.

So the drama continues. MMR finally got back to me. I sent them a picture of the pistons, the guy emails me back saying he is sure that is a 11cc not an 18cc which would make me back at 9.8 compression. The odd part was he sent me a comparison photo of an 18cc manly piston to show the difference.. but it was not an MMR manly piston. Do they just etch the name on the piston and call it a day?

MMR is very good at what they do. They get lots of practice.

I mean the guy who called me seemed really eager to help me out so, idk - maybe it is an 11cc piston. I really, really don't want to have to try pulling off a head and measuring the damn thing. Though I guess it could be worse.

That is MMR... Why are they still in business?!?!

Fucking RPM Outlet clones...

Well they said they will get back to me Monday with more details. Either way, I think im going to go with a larger pully for now. I don't like 21 psi on 93 pump gas.. not when everyone says 17 max lol I'll sacrifice some HP to keep my engine together.

20 is max

Do you still have that restrictive exhaust on there?

No I hit 21.5 without the cats haha. It was 23 before hand. Honestly I might go back to stock exhaust anyway, I'm not into the exhaust smell and the sound for cruising around with a girl in the car. But yeah a lot of ppl said 17 on pump 93. I mean I don't have any issue dropping to say 17 until I can swap to e85 someday.

How on earth is that thing seeing 21.5 @9:8:1 on 93 and not blowing to the moon? The super snake my father owns is a tvs car on 93 stock gt500 motor 659whp @17.5 psi? SS has cats too.

Something makie no sense to me?

I've never had exhaust smell issues with no cats. There may be something else going on there.

I agree, this seems way outside the norm. I have seen a LOT of boost gauges that don't read right. And I mean a lot. It may be time to put a different gauge on to see if it reads differently.

Well I've only pushed it to max boost 3 or 4 times for literially secondso when doing pulls to try and figure out wtf is going on. There are two gauges running off the same sensor. Ughh what a cluster this has become. Im going to pull the plugs to check for detonation, maybe it has been at 8.8 comp the entire time. Still waiting on mmr to get back to me.

People say a lot of things. How many of them have experience with what they are giving you advice about? That's the real question.

There are so many variables that nobody can give specifics like that. Have one injector that's off by 6% and all bets are off on what max is. The lower the stress on the motor the better but having things like a good fuel system with flow matched injectors goes along way. So do things like knock sensors and a competent tuner.

The 3v is it's own entity and some rules that apply to say a Terminator, 2v, Mach, or GT500 aren't going to apply.

I'd be scared to death running 21 lbs on a new setup without having the tune dialed in and datalogging showing everything perfect. I'd be swapping out pulleys to dial it back and get the tune dialed in before bumping up the boost. I'm sure some will disagree but I'm just a chicken I guess.

What exhaust do you have on it right now showing all that boost? That's probably where your "cork" is.

Me too. In fact I'm such a chicken that I've only run 19psi and that was too much for my comfort level, lol.
