Rear lowering springs only

I have a 14 GT base. I put on some 19x9 wheels with 255/40/19 tires. The wheel to fender gap is acceptable in the front. The back however is not. Just too much space between the fender and tire. I do not want to lower the front anymore than stock. So it seems I need to lower the rear only. Anybody ever did this and if so, what springs did you use? Suspension-wise the car is stock other than RLCAs.

I'm pretty sure I remember someone who made factory spring rate rear springs specifically for this purpose. If you can't find it with a search, someone else will chime in.

When I had my 06 I cut the factory rear springs about 1 coil until I got all my suspension parts. There was no real difference in ride quality.

For what it's worth, here's the Eibach Sportlines on my 11 with the same wheels/tires so you can get an accurate comparison. The Sportlines drop the rear about 2''

Really don't want to cut the stockers. Looks good though. Researching different sites it looks like rear Boss 302 (non-LS) springs might do the trick. No pics though.

Yeah, I didn't really want to. It was just a temporary thing. I used it that way for a month. Also had a set of back up stock springs if the ride sucked too much.

I'm lowered 2'' and my rear end is still dead center. Don't always need a panhard bar.

Flip side to that is.... on my 2010, the axle stuck out the driver's side by 3/8"......which didn't get any worse, once the rear was lowered 1.25"......go figure. So in went the BMR adjustable PHB + mating brace.... problem solved.

What's your wheel dimension and tire size ? As I'm lowered by 1.5" in the rear and 1.3" up front.. My wheel dimensions are 20x8.5 front/20x10 rear with 285/30/20" and 255/35/20" tires..

My rear axle sticks out on the driver's side by approx 3/8" from just being lowered by 1.5" and requires an adjustable PHB in order to re-center the rear axle back to factory specs..

At any rate, the reason I'm asking for your wheel and tire dimensions, is that I don't recall seeing them posted and although your car is lowered by 2" and doesn't require an adjustable PHB also depends on what your wheel dimensions and tire size happens to be as well..

I just lowered my '05 1.5 inches in the rear and the driver's side tire sticks out 3/16th of an inch more, so I am not going to worry about it for now.

When I start hooking with more power I will install an adjustable bar

Did you have to get caster/camber plates or purchase camber bolts for adjusting your front alignment back to within Ford OEM specs ?

I had to purchase a pair of Eibach camber bolts in order to get my front alignment back to within OEM specs with just 255/35/20's on 20x8.5 wheels..
