Anyone use AC Pro?

My AC is not working as well as it used to. It's still working but not working great.

I heard you can buy this product called AC Pro:

Seems simple enough.

Should I do it?

it might help, if it's low on freon. But if you have a leak, it will just leak out again.

Replaced it November 8, 2015. Should be OK i think.

they're supposed to be changed every 15k miles, or every other oil change basically. Not saying this IS the issue, but it's a cheap place to start.

I noticed my a/c stopped being cool and that I was having to turn the fan up more to achieve the same level of cold. Changing this filter helped out a lot.

Well, I'll change it. It's probably time anyhow. We'll see.

You have to know why it is not working as well. If you are low on freon putting more in will help but like it was said it does not fix the issue. In theory the system should never need to have more freon added unless there is an issue. Get yourself a set of gauges (forgot what they are called)



Test static pressure along with it running and you can use them to help diagnose what the issue is. Overfilling a system is not good either so just don't go throwing a bunch in there if it is not needed.

+1 on the filter. IMHO, if recharging it does not help, your best bet is to take it some where (if you don't have a vacuume puller) and have them pull a vacuum. If it doesn't hold they'll tell you and then you'll know if you have a leak. IMO, I'd do that first because if you accidentally charge the system too much or don't put enough pag oil in You can definitely mess up some stuff.

...you should really do this if you know what you are doing or are willing to learn...There's proper techniques to connect the gauges keep air out of the system, and not lose a lot of freon in the process!

Gauges can be 'rented' (or borrowed) at some of the major auto parts places.

Something you might do it to take a look at the front of your a/c condenser behind the grill, look for dings or wet spots which may indicate a leak from a rock. I've also seen them leak around the driver-side hose connection o-ring.
