I loooovvvved them, I borrowed them from a friend while he was building his car though. They were comfy but would need more padding for long trips

Damn man. That sucks. I was hoping to see this to the finish.

It's still going! I'm not in a huge rush to sell it, so I'm going to be slowly building it. If someone does offer me a good deal though I'll sell it

Update! Decided to run a bunch of Vegas drift events next season. They decided to model Japanese tracks and run two day fun events so I’m definitely doing those.

Got the sway bars on, lca relocation brackets, removed all of the a/c and lines, got it all aligned now too.
Now just to throw the new fuel pump I have in and save some money for some seats and belts then she’s ready to roll again!

Current Pics?

I need to grab some shots of the car but here's a somewhat recent video from a bit ago of the build! Started finishing up some little bits and removing the a/c. Next video should be up soon of it's current state and progress

Decided to run these windforce tires for the limited series over the summer. Suuuper cheap and they work great. I’ve ran them on my s13 before and they wear down very evenly and don’t chunk. The tread wear rating is a little high at 300 but at 45$ bucks for a new tire, can’t beat that

One big issue my car had at the last event was with third gear it would fall flat on its face. Before anyway says "well go faster and commit" I was kicking a$$ and clutch kicking like crazy and third would bog down no matter what. Does any have any advice for that? I was running about 45-50psi on a skinny 225/45 /18 tire and it still couldn't spin them.
1 piece driveshaft? More power? Down size to 17in in the rear with smaller sidewall?

Do they come with any warranty or projected mileage? (Thinking about cheap daily tires)

Edit: Where'd you that price?

Also, didn't you say you put 4:10 gears in already? How short is 2nd? I wonder if putting 3:53s back in will help 2nd be more usable since 3rd is too long. At least until you can boost the power some more. I haven't ever been in a drift environment where I could even think of 3rd gear. Does it feel close to usable? Iask because I have some mbr motormounts on my car and the drive line feel is better and more direct than i would expect. It completey cured 1st to 2nd grinding too. I feel i got rid of some power loss too. So, if third feels almost usable, maybe mounts, 1 piece driveshaft, and 17s would help. I would just hate running 17s due to look. Us mustang peeps get enough hate in drift scene already. Lol At least with the 4:10s, motor mounts, and 1 piece drive shaft, you can still use them even after moarr power.

Question For anybody that might be following this thread.

Do you guys have any questions with anything, or would like a video to cover any topic? Car setup, tire pressures, drifting techniques, stuff about using a mustang, ect. My whole
Goal with this car and the videos are to educate about using a newer chassis for drifting, and just to help grow the sport

That is the video I was looking for! Well at least until that clutch kick went south. So, how in the world did that happen you think? I don't understand what exactly happened. haha I hope you get a good/cheap replacement.

Also, I bet if you get a good set of cams and valve train components I bet you will be able to pull third. You are almost there in the first entry.

Red09GT suggested "If it were me, I would do livernois 20 degree limiters, TFS-16213-24 valve springs and Comp cams 127400's or 127500's."

I've been doing some research on them and the gains are all across 3k to 6k rpm. I am saving for the 127500's and all valve train components that can be upgraded. Apparently the followers are not really that "upgrade-able" at least for return on investment that is.

Right, that’s a good idea on the cams. I’ve been looking into a headers setup now too and hopefully get every bit of air flow I can, then probably cams next. Even though third wasn’t working through most of it I think it develops driver skill a lot more. You need to be able to carry momentum and follow a great line, like a Miata driver. I think I’ll do even higher gears then 4.10s if I replace the rear end too.

So what happened to is that the axle tubes that connect to the pumpkin snapped off on the clutch kick, idk the extent of the internal damage yet though :/. Maybe I’ll just suck f it and do a 9in so it’s setup for more power for clutch kicks
