You know - the glossy black panel between the taillights - it seems they all start to peel and look generally bad after awhile... Are you living with it, covering it with something, replacing it, painting it, what??

I replaced mine years ago with a painted-to-match RTR unit, then had a custom pony decal added on.

The cheapest and easyest way would be to replace it with more vinyl. You can find it at any local sign shop. You can go back to the stock looking black or put any color they may have in stock if you want a different look. It may take a little time but it is relatively easy. Kind of like putting on window film. Or you could paint it like you said in your post. It just depends on your own capabilities.

[emoji848] hmmm good ideas. I was thinking maybe have a tint shop cover it with their darkest tint. If that didn’t work, just have it painted either gloss black or body color.[emoji1743]‍[emoji3603]

Thinking of doing some vinyl carbon fiber look wrap on it.

I bought some high gloss carbon XPO vinyl from VViVD on Amazon for about $14 (12" x 60") piece. Going to give that a go. I think the high gloss will blend in better with the tail lights and be more subtle, closer to the OEM gloss appearance, than the flat or textured CF vinyl.

I ended up replacing the panel a real carbon fiber one from True Fiber.
