Cold fired the stang Thursday warmed it up and pulled out the drive. By the time I got to road CEL was lit, before I got to the bottom of our hill it was flashing. p0300 p0301 p0304 p0308. 1,500-2000rpm the engine was bucking ferociously attempting to leap from the engine bay. Swapped some plugs and coils and cleared codes and cyl8 misfire stayed. All attempts at resetting failed so off to the dealer assuming that Cyl8 side IMRC was the culprit. So off to the dealer. After keeping the car for most of the day... they to were stumped on cyl8. Compression good. Ford mechanic diagnosed clogged injector, possible debris in the fuel rail. Drained fuel rail swapped injectors. Back in the game. Seems to run like new.

I would have assumed they would have seen the clogged injector in the pcm, here’s to hoping they didn’t just get lucky. I was told Intakes are back ordered, there are a lot of them failing. No TSB on them yet. They did however say that Ford will be releasing a TSB for 5.0 heads all the way back to gen 1. Apparently these motors are eating intake valves. Knife edging the valves and sucking them into the head. Just a heads up to y’all...

Yes, it is possible for the PCM not to detect a clogged injector. All the PCM knows is if the circuit is open, shorted, or normal. The pcm figures out which cylinder is not happy by O2 readings and firing order. And yes, I have seen clogged injector screens. It does happen, and it is very obvious when you remove the injector(s).

Not too happy about the potential TSB on cylinder heads. But for now, I will keep running mine hard till something gives. lol

This is what I would expect, but from the paperwork I received there was no indication that they found anything. Just weird. The head issue I’ve been told is a misfire issue as well. Send it till you can’t is all you can do... lol

The day we had our 2018 GT PP1 delivered the driver took it off the truck and pulled it in the driveway and it was missing like crazy. He claimed it was not doing it when he picked it up. Took it to my local dealer and found it had 4 misfires, 4 fouled plugs on a brand new car, WTF how do 4 plugs go bad at once? I called Ford and registered a complaint and they claim these motors will do this if they are started and run for only short periods of time, such as the dealer moving it around on the lot and the driver loading and unloading it. They replaced the 4 plugs and it's not done it since, wife just turned over 5200 miles on it. We're careful to let it run a bit whenever we need to start it and move it. Hate to say the more I learn about this car the less I like it.

Just hope it doesn’t end up going down the same road as the 3.5 eco.

JJ, auto or stick? I’m sure I read somewhere but can’t remember at the moment. I know you use hand controls.

It's an auto, I need that with the hand controls.

I used to race with a guy who used hand controls. For sure you got enough on your plate with an auto.

Car is Missing again. Haven’t been able to scan it yet. Will Report after I scan it and drop it off at the dealer.

When you scan it don't clear any codes you find, leave them in it. I made that mistake on mine running at the track as I wanted to see if the same or different codes returned my next session.
