Kenne Bell 2.6 Install

Hey all,

So after many unsuccessful attempts, I cannot get a hold of anyone from Kenne Bell. I have a question about the connections for 3 hoses and then one small fitting on the lower manifold.

I do not have an install manual and was hoping to purchase one through KB along with a 6-rib pulley.

Any input would be great.

The connection for the vac line coming off the intake just before the throttle body.

The two fittings toward the back of the manifold.

The small fitting toward the front of the lower manifold on the passenger side by the alternator.

A picture would help.

But first off any connection before the throttle body won't be under vacuum. Probably goes as the inlet for the PCV system if its before the throttle body. Is it after the MAF?

The two fittings in the back are probably intercooler lines. Do you have those hooked up yet? Where do those fittings go to do they to the intercooler or into the intake manifold?

The fitting toward the front, is it a vacuum port? If it is it might be for the FRPS vacuum source.


Though I'm not familiar with the KB there are only so may things that can be going on with the intake manifold. Either it's a vacuum fitting and if it's not being used, just cap it off. Otherwise it's a water line for the intercooler or engine cooling.

There is a speed shop down the road from Kenne Bell and from what I remember they worked closely together testing and R&D'ing products. I'm not sure about that relationship now.

They are called spankin time motorsports. I just googled them and they are still around. Contact them and maybe they can help put you in touch with somebody at Kenne Bell.

Pictures would definitely help, I think 07 Boss has you pretty close. Getting a hold of the folks at KB can be a pain sometimes....

I installed my 2.8, here's my best guess based on what I did:

- The connection from the intake tube before the throttle body should go to the valve cover on the passenger side, where your old PCV connection was.

- The connections on the back of the intake manifold, close to the firewall, correct? Passenger side is the 'cold side', the line exiting the heat exchanger connects here. The driver's side fitting on the heat exchanger should go back to the reservoir.

- The small fitting towards the front sounds like the vacuum line that runs to the bypass valve. Also a good place to tee in a boost gauge or the vacuum line for a boost-a-pump, if you're running one.

Well I got a hold of Kenne Bell. They are sending a pulley and manual via priority mail.

I appreciate all the feedback. I have attached pictures of exactly what I am referring to.

I have fallen behind schedule and have already been sent a startup tune. Hence why I am reaching out to the community. It would be nice to have everything done before the materials from Kenne Bell arrive so all that will need be done at that time is a pulley swap and turning her over.

The top picture is definitely the vacuum line for the bypass valve. This line may also tee off to the Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor now that I think about it.

In the bottom picture I'm 90% sure one of those is the PCV line from the driver's side valve cover, I'm thinking the fitting closest to the center of the car. Pretty sure the other fitting goes to the brake booster. It may not matter which line goes to which fitting, but I can't say that for sure.

The 2.8 manifold has 3 fittings on top of the supercharger, and for the life of me I can't remember where that 3rd line goes. Unfortunately my car and manual aren't at my house right now, or I could be a little more concrete with the solution.

I think you got this right. In the bottom photo, the fitting closest to the driver's side goes to the driver's side PCV - preferably with a catch can in between. The other one goes to the brake booster.

And the top picture fitting goes to the bypass, and it is tee'd to the pressure sensor.

So then what would this hose connect into? I had it run with a catch can to the drivers side valve cover.

Well you didn't show THAT in the picture! Lol

That looks right, the circled fitting is where your catch can will connect. I'll do some digging and see if I can figure out that last connection...

Also GTR works closely with KB and they're actually in Rancho. Ricardo at GTR is a pro with these as well, can also reach out to them. Google GTR High Performance in Rancho Cucamonga. They did my tune, awesome job.

I might have messed that up. Your connection is probably the right one.

So there is supposed to be a three way connection between the bypass, the fuel sender and the fitting at the front of the manifold?

Got it figured out.

The line at the front of the manifold does tee to the Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor and the Bypass Valve.

The 3rd line from the top of the supercharger runs to the evap canister, the black cylinder that hangs off of the driver's side shock tower. It looks like KB supplies a hose with the factory fitting on it for this connection, but you may be able to frankenstein something together from the factory hose.

Thank you all for all your input. The book and pulley I ordered on Tuesday showed up yesterday and I now have all the materials I need to finish this install.

Doing the install as well on my 2010 GT. Trying to figure out the intake piping on the passenger side. Does anyone know if any cutting is needed to run the intake?

got the piping figured out. Now I need to know what sensor is on the driver front of the manifold?

What does it look like and where does it go exactly? Does it go into the intake runners or the water crossover or intercooler?
