Alternator 9R3Z10346B (clutched pulley) is for a manual while 9R3Z10346D (non-clutched pulley) is for an automatic.

Ford goes back and forth on it over the years sometimes they do different pulley models sometimes they dont. You can run either on either trans. Typically most favor the clutched version for a manual trans generally will prolong the life of the alt as well.

The dob alt works with a kb. I have both. The power stud is too long and needs to shortened. The plug is too big and it hits the manifold. The dob is clutched which makes life easier on the belt. Look here for pics.

I hate to be that guy, but really almost everything about s197s has been covered around here many times. Just need to look for the info.

I tried looking racer, I couldn't find it. I searched here, I even used key word search on Google.

Thats cool. I wasn't really implying you. I was thinking more about the DOB alternator. I've posted a few times that it fits. And I even talked to Jason about it. He says, if it doesn't bolt up perfectly without effort, he will get buried in calls and emails. So he just says it doesn't fit.

I didn't even ask why it didn't fit when I ordered it. I knew the case he used and could not see any reason why it wouldn't work. So I just bought it and took my chances. Turns out, it takes little to make it fit. Plus it really is a good alt, pricey, but good, and probably off topic from what you wanted to know, sorry.

If it will fit with some modifications im not too worried about it. I've heard nothing but good about those. I thought they took off 2 ears on those altenators?

The first batch all had ears. Then the second batch, some did, some didn't. I'm not sure why he bothers to cut them off. I don't think they are necessary but they must add at least at least a little stiffness and strength.

You would have to email Jason and see if he will make what you want. Mine is with ears, with clutch, 8 rib pulley and black. It works well and looks good too.
