6 speed swap

Hi all,
I'm intrigued with swapping in a 6 speed from a 2011 or later v6, into my 2006 4.0 v6 5 speed.
Is this possible?
I've searched for compatibility but have not found anything.
This swap, combined with a 4.10 ring and pinion, should get a pronounced gain in acceleration while keeping fuel economy acceptable.
Anyone else have this theory? Is it doable?
Thanks!

Not possible. You need a bellhousing that fits the V6 and the 6spd trans. If there is such a bellhousing, it will cost a lot. (no demand for this swap). And then you need a 26 spline clutchdisk. Another "zero demand" part.

It can and has been done with the GT500 TR6060. It required an adapter plate and some other changes...not sure if the parts are still available.
I don't know if the later 3.7 trans uses the same bellhousing pattern as the 4.0, or not. Same for the spline count on the clutch, so not much help there either. Sorry. Good chance it would need the driveshaft from the 6-speed as well.
One option I can speak of from experience, is having a replacement T5OD built to your specs. IIRC, the ratios in the stock V6 trans are 3.74:1, 2.19:1, 1.43:1, 1:1, and a .74 overdrive. With 4.10s, First gear was just about redundant. The T5OD is a relative of the old T-5, and can use the gear set from that trans. Modern Driveline put one together for me with 2.95:1, 1.94:1, 1.34:1, 1:1, and .63 gears. It works well with the 4.10s, and cruises well on the highway.

Thanks Roddy,
Mind if I ask what that rebuild cost?
I was hopeful that the 6 speed swap would be feasible. But I can work with a usable 4 speed with overdrive for the highway. I belive the 4.0 would work well with that set-up.

I looked for the bill, but couldn't find it. IIRC it was under $2K shipped to my door. Keep in mind, that's in Canadian dollars, and includes taxes and border fees. It would be considerably less keeping it in the US.
https://www.moderndriveline.com/ I believe they are in Idaho.

I dont see the needed bellhousing or adapter to fit a 6spd behind a 4.0 Cologne v6.

The adapter plate was made by Action Adaption, back when the 4.0 was more popular. You can still get the plate I beleive. I had one on my 4.0 and a TR6060 bolted up to it...now THAT was a NICE 6-speed!

Thanks! Action Adaption...I couldn't remember what Gaylon's piece was called.
