Mach E no start concnern

I have a Mach E here with a no start concern. It has been tracked back to a defective pigtail inside the Electric Battery Pack Assembly.

Yeah I guess. I had to stop calling it a Gas pedal. It's an accelerator pedal. I had a chance to drive one for the weekend. It was a Premium package with an extended rage battery. It is really not bad. Driving it was like driving an oversize RC Car

Everything that comes in gets scanned to start due to the amount of modules that are in vehicles these days.

You have to actuate the hazard lights, windshield wipers, and horn button simultaneously to reboot. Then hit the FM1 button on the radio to enter BIOS to change the boot sequence. Reboot. Hit FM10 on the radio to enter diagnostics mode when prompted...

What is the aprx HWD of that depicted mess of batteries ? What is the net weight ?
How much $$ to replace them ?

Mess and weight I am not sure on I can tell you it takes up about 75% of the underside of the vehicle. Replacement cost for the battery is about 56000.00. Crazy!

Mess and weight I am not sure on I can tell you it takes up about 75% of the underside of the vehicle. Replacement cost for the battery is about 56000.00. Crazy!

$56K for a replacement battery ? WTF ? That's $67,660 cdn dollars. And how long is it supposed to last for, 7 years, maybe 9 tops. The all electric F150, bought used, a few years down the road, will be worth..dick. It's $56K now....what about way down the road ? Then more $$ on top of that, to remove the old one, and install the new one.

I've actually thought about taking the saas model past taas (transport) and faas (food) to it's logical conclusion... LAAS (life as a service). It seems there's plenty of consumer appetite for such a scheme. Pay me a monthly fee, I'll look after everything i think you need. Only trouble is the business getting disputed (gooberment) is likely to dig in hard to prevent losing market share. [emoji16]

Also, for the no-start concern, I read an article recently saying some Mach-E's were having an issue where they'd go to sleep and not wake back up, I think a software update was supposed to fix it.
You guys are having an actual hardware issue?

I can see the car itself being sold at a loss, to get market share.
And being called a Mustang, they could always bundle it in with the profits from all the regular Mustangs they sell, which at the prices they're getting for them they must be a pretty profitable model.

But to price the battery at almost the same price as the car itself, that's nuts.

Yes. We found a pigtail concern inside the battery pack. The price of the battery is not based on the value of the vehicle. The software update did not fix this one. 2 that we sold we did the software updates to.
