I was able to pick up a 2018 roushcharger 2650 that was lightly used including the intake manifold, throttle body and air intake housing (not pictured). I am working on building a list of the parts I need to build a whole kit and install on my 2011 5.0 Mustang GT.

I'm not looking at making a massive amount power at this point just trying to round up enough parts to make it functional. Next on my list will be a coolant reservoir, heat exchanger and coolant pump injectors and a tune.

Has anyone seen or installed one of these kits on a 2011 or Gen1 coyote? I'm still trying to figure out what what other modifications would be needed to get this up and running.

Questions I currently have are:

  • What size of injectors should I be looking for?
    • I've done some research on both the original kit as well as other sites with detailed charts based on power and it looks like the area of 60lbs is what I need but I haven't found anything concrete.
  • Will I need other upgrades to the fuel system?
  • Recommended heat exchanger and pump size?
    • What size exchanger and pump should I looking for? In my mind a heat exchanger and pump is a pretty simple system but I have seen pages of arguments of number of passes, gpm's thickness etc.

I did a little myself. It seems this 2650 is over several brands and it looks like you can order one for a 2012. Why it's just 2012 is any ones guess. I do know many of these companies only sell replacement parts to registered owners. I am having the same problem with a telescope. I need a $100 part for a used telescope and the retailer wants me to junk that used telescope and buy the same telescope new from them. Then they will sell me parts. The telescope is really made in China anyway and the telescope has several brand names. One in England and they sell parts.

If you can't get parts from Roush check out DOB's site. Finding the rest of the items you need should be self explanatory (see install instructions) but I'm sure Jason will be glad to provide recommendations and sell whatever additional items are needed to complete your installation. At the very least you're going to find better heat exchangers and pumps than what Roush can sell you.

Thanks guys. I've been going through the install instruction manuals for the Roush 2300 and 2650 (gen1 and gen3 years respectively) in order to check off most of the major parts.

I still cant find a clear answer on injector size. The part number listed by roush shows different flows depending on where I look but the best I can tell is that around 60lbs seems to be close.

The 2018 kit also includes upgraded fuel rails that. Are these necessary?

AFAIK, all the roush kits since day1 came with new fuel rails. The oem fuel rails are not big enough for the added fuel flow requirements.

The 2012 kit says 58lbs.

Justin @ VMP will get you a heat exchanger, you'll want the peirberg pump at a minimum (2013 GT500,) - there are also pumps that were installed in GM products that may outpunch it.

I'd get injectors from deatchworks or whoever it is.

Roush always sold me parts for my frankensystem, they were amazing to deal with.

Have you asked your tuner what injectors to use? It would suck to buy injectors and then your tuner tells you, sorry i dont tune those.

Thats kind of what I was thinking. I had a local shop in mind but someone recently recommended Bama tunes for my project. I sent Bama an email but I don't if they do custom tunes for something that is this haphazard and pieced together.

NO BAMA

Justin @VMP is a solid character, for that reason I'd reach out to him. Heck, he even dealt with @skwerl for years!!

There's also Lund.

DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT A BAMA TUNE !!!

Bama will have it running like crap from day 1. Bama and "tune" don't belong in the same sentence....esp when a pd blower is involved. Installing a 2650 blower on a 2011, then getting bama to 'tune it'....would be like asking an 8 year old kid to deactivate a bomb.

This. Stay away from Bama though. And I don't think jewc75 meant the size of the injectors. I know tuners that are very specific about the brand of injector they use. The seem to have a more efficient time tuning them

Somebody hates you. BAMA will be happy to blow-up your engine for you, while getting paid to do so.

This. When Bama blows up your engine..... it will then be..... "too bad, so sad". They will then blame it on everything but their ...'tune'. Meanwhile, you are toast. You ..'saved' a tiny bit of money on their..'tune'...which then cost you a new engine. Penny wise, pound foolish. 10 years ago, Bama would not even tune a car with any type of blower installed. Now they think they can tune a space shuttle.

That's very unfair. Everyone here can tune a space shuttle, can't you? LOL!

Point taken. When those solid fuel booster rockets light, they run flat out, full bore, and no way to shut em off. Now if bama had their hands on it, one would light 10 seconds before the other...and one of em would not disconnect from the big orange fuel tank....while the 2nd one would jettison prematurely. The chutes would become entangled, and a fuel line would fall off the big tank. Then they change their phone number.

I know the Ford guys don't like any of it. They point out that the programmers ride bicycles to work. They are still selling the Ford Racing ProCal and people seem to be still buying them. Very few used ones come to market.
