Hey guys, I just got an 09 V6 and as you all know we have the auto drop windows (whatever they call those) when we open the doors. Being an old fashioned dude, I was just wondering if any of you that have had your stangs for a while have found them to become an issue? Not that I have any problems with mine, don't get me wrong. Just wondering if all that up-down all the time becomes a window motor breaker.

Sorry, I just realized I put this in the 4.6 instead of the 4.0. Feel free to move if you wish.

I gotta get a sig.....

Only if you take the battery out and then yank the door open while the windows were all the way up. Don't ask me how I know.

I roll my windows up down frequently and have not had any issues. Mine is an 07. I have done this with my other two previous Mustangs and they worked fine for years...

No problems with mine, and my car has a build date of 12/2/04.

+1 on them needing to be programmed, but it's a simple enough task. I don't remember exactly how to do it, but if you need it, instructions are a Google search away.

My 07 driver's side window occasionally fails to go back up when I close the door. Tapping the window up switch makes it go up. Just a minor annoyance, hearing air flow over the radio when I'm driving usually tips me off that it happened.

I have a 4/18/2005 build date and I have not had any problems with them. I have had to reprogram them a couple of times due to removing the batter or the battery dying (you have LOVE the crap fantastic battery Ford saddled us with!)

Or just look in your owners manual

Ouch! That has gotta hurt. I'm glad to hear there aren't any issues (so far). I hoped they wouldn't be an issue since the Camaro, & challenger also have this set up. I don't know about any of the Japanese cars. One thing I found on my car when I first got it was that if I jerked the door open, (like I always did on cars with window frames) it would hit the window molding. To avoid that problem I have just gotten into the habit of opening it a click, and when it pulls down, I open it the rest of the way. Does anyone else do this or do you just rip away? Or are my windows too slow?

BTW as far as reprogramming, it's really easy just roll down all the way and hold switch for 2 secs, then roll up all the way and hold switch for 2 secs and your done. I read that here or on another forum.

Actually, I have never had a OEM battery last me very long regardless of car manufacturer. They probably give you the cheapest ones they can find. That is one reason I always get the biggest replacement battery I can get when I get an after market. If the car calls for 550 CCA I always get a 750 or 800 CCA just to be safe. Back in the day I used to be able to get a 1000 CCA but here in California with all their regulations they have now reduced that down to 750 CCA max. We are regulated to death! BTW the Jap cars always demand more from a battery than the Americans do, I donno why.

My drivers side window is confused. The bounce back function is active all the time. The only way I can seal the window is if I hold the switch up and even then, it only stays up the second time I hold the switch up. I've tried the programming procedure but hasn't worked. I read a thread somewhere about de-programming by pulling the fuse or some shit like that, but haven't gotten around to doing it.

Anyone know how to stop this so I can have the windows tinted. Like temporarily disable the auto drop then reenable it?

You don't need to disable it to have your windows tinted. I didn't, anyway. Just let the tint dry enough before you close the doors.

BTW, before you get them tinted, be sure to get some moleskin for the inside of your weather strips, if you have on 05-07.
