Is there a number or marking that is visible on the heads that distinguishes them from the old style to the newer style plugs? My 2005 got a new long block from the dealership in 2012 and I would like to know if I got the newer style heads. I know I still have the older coils but there are no coils on the invoice.
I know I could simply pull a plug but I would rather not take a chance snaping one off if I don't have to.
I think There was .. im not sure if I can see them now ,,but tomorrow when I go put the intake on ,I'll have a gander and see if I can find some numbers for ya

Green covers look very different and individual.

But like i said it's no biggie cuz when I pull the motor to put rods and pistons in .
I'm gonna color match the engine bay and valve covers and timing cover

Good God whitmanink! Green car with black stripes, a red engine bay and teal valve covers. Your scaring me dude.
thats the color lol its a teal green !?! ,,
def not what the pic looked like online, lol .,
it was suppose to be an emerald green.. the cap even looked right ,, the paint ,, not so much

until i pull the engine again , im gonna have to keep the hood closed lol.

ive got about a half gallon of my green yet just waiting for me to do this,,
its just very time consuming and atm i just wanna run it ,

but i agree , its looking like a rat rod under the hood.

Looks a bit like the Petronas color. I think any color looks better than the raw aluminum

Thank you for checking!
not a problem brother..
if you got a new long block in 2012 ,
i can guarantee you have the new style plugs 09 and newer) as they went away from the old 05\06 07\part 08 style spark plug

Was there any fitment issues when attaching your old coils to the new style head?

no ,, but that said ,, i have both coil packs (05\06 and 09\10)
and the one seems like its slightly bigger hole for the spark plug, not much at all ,like a few cm..
but it did look slightly different.

now that said , the only difference was when i went to pull them from the spark plugs,
quite a few had the center spring pull out with the plug from inside the coil pack,

but no misfires (this past one wasn't a coil pack)\

so i guess any coil pack year ) 2005 to 2010 ) will work,, but it wont come off so nice lol
