My tuner has a customer with an 06 GT - 5-speed. The car has the Ford Racing Whipple HO kit, and recently he installed a built shortblock with the stock heads/cams.

The car is making about 460whp on 10 psi, and he is running low 12's. Admittedly, he is not the best driver.

Anyway, he is thinking of selling and building a 10 second Fox car because he does nor believe his 06 Gt has 10 second potential.

Will the Whipple srt up he is running have the potentia to make enough power for a shot at a 10 second timeslip?

What would he need to do?

He needs a driver mod. I ran 11.67 on stock suspension with a DA of 725ft and I'm sure there's an 11.40 or better in it the way its set up with better weather and driving. I'm running a stock longblock and a 3.5" pulley which barely hits 10psi on my boost gauge. All I need is to up the boost and I'll be in the 10's. If he can't drive his S197 into the 11's the way its set up what makes him think he can drive a fox into the 10's?

I think you've got the driver mod. Where did you buy yours at? :beerchug2:

Thanks, but I really dont think I am that good of a driver. I got better with practice. My first run in the car with the blower I ran a 13.1.... now after 60+ passes I'm competent.

No doubt about it the car has the potential to hit 10s. Even on stock block!

I would say if he had suspension, drag radials and a good driver he should hit mid 11's. More boost and he should be in the 10's easy!

At 13 psi I ran 11.30s, at 16psi I ran a best of 10.67 @ 128mph while still driving to the track, so it can easily be done. Now at 18psi and with the new car at a lighter weight, car runs 10.37 while spinning at 134mph. The whipple is a good unit--the car should be able to run 10.1Xs with some slicks.

What is the guys mph?

I don't know his 60 or trap speeds. Admitedly he needs practice. He's ready to give up and build a 10 second Fox body, which considering what he has invested already seems a bit silly.

Are you running stock heads & cams? aNy vids of your passes I could forward to him?

stock heads and cams still (I didn't want to spend the $3500)

Some vids:

And the new car:

You could tell him to just go to streetfire.net, type in "psfracer" in the search, and all of my vids will come up.
