The 05+ flywheel takes an 11" clutch, the 02 GT has a 10.5" setup.

Not really I ran a very early model spec 3 and it was in fact a 10.5" setup so it can be done ......vise versa right now I am running a 11" spec 3+ with a old body style cobra 8 bolt flywheel .....

96-04 Gt's use a 10.5" 6 bolt flywheel , 96-02 Cobra used a 10.5" 8 bolt flywheel. 03-04 used a 11" 8 bolt flywheel. 1986-2004 cable clutch
2005-up uses a 11" 6 bolt flywheel. 05-up hydraulic clutch.

So you will need to use a 05-up flywheel, with a clutch kit from spec for the conversion. The stage one setup is only 250 I think.

Well from what you have stated a 96-04 gt flywheel will bolt right up to the 05 motor and work then..... sure a 11" might be better but the 10.5" will work

I do not know however if they are balanced the same. That is not something i researched since i started with a cobra engine.

you guys are using the C&L Intake. I plan on using the stock intake manifold. Isnt the stock one shorter in height?

i wonder if you can remove the factory cmcv plates completely and bolt the manifold to the heads directly. make your own gasket with silicone or something. that would lower the intake a bit. perhaps lowered motor mounts as well for some more.

i wonder if that would be enough
