How do you get a nitrous system through smog testing in California? Might be something that I would be interested in if it's not too much of a bitch to remove for smog testing.

I like this picture from the HSW website...I could just remove that little trim plate inside the console to route the wires and it would be hidden and clean! I did some snooping around various forums today and see a lot of praise for HSW nitrous systems from folks on the GM side also. Hrmmm....

I think I like this one better. Who wants to drive with the armreast cover open? You also can get to your cool beverage while your stomping all over that Camaro's ass. :beerchug2:

what makes hsw the best kit is my personal preference and experience as well as having excellent customer service and high quality products. my boyfriend has been using hsw products for the lsx market for years without any problems and then we did my car and i have not had any problems. the plate kit is one of the nicest and complete units i have seen. once again cheap can mean alot of different things to different people. a setup similar to mine can be done for around 2,000 dollars

the microedge is easy to install as long as you follow the directions. it is also user friendly. a universal stand alone from hsw is 700 but you would have to relocate the battery. their stand alone for the s197 is not for sale yet

Stock pump is not an issue here because of the fuel cell. They are also using the stock tune which has relatively low timing compared many aftermarket tunes. I would also go out on a limb and say that they prolly don't have 93 pump in the fuel cell. They are also running colder plugs (1 step colder should reduce cylinder temps about 100ish give or take). All in all they have protected themselves from detonation (which would be the worry here) here pretty well.

My buddy recently purchased a 2010 Camaro 2SS/RS and called me two nights ago about drag racing at a friend's runway (guy owns a crop duster business). Well, as we know the Camaro is packing 426 hp and I'm at about 285 rwhp. I need to even up the playing field and am thinking nitrous. I'd like to get some recommendations from folks in the know. Here are my parameters...

1. Run a system that minimizes risk to motor
2. 75 shot max
3. No permanent modification to interior of vehicle
4. No permanent modification to trunk is a plus
5. I am open to changing my CAI if necessary (have JLT2 now)
6. Does not require dyno tuning (email tune only)
7. Right now, cost is not a factor

I've got a 2007 Mustang GT, manual trans, 3.55 gears, delete plates, JLT2, 91 octane tune

If I need to provide more information, don't hesitate to point that out!

Thanks!!

I think the plate system would fit you to a T! It bolts behind the throttle body and can be easily removed without drilling any holes into your air intake. The armrest switchplate utilizes factory hardware to secure it to the console. If you're not a big fan of having it under the lid, you can use our cupholder switchplate as well. I do recommend hard mounting the cupholder one with the hardware that comes with it...some of the other switchplates out there expect you to use double sided tape...I don't know about you, but I want something solid not flopping around like a dead fish.

Also, a few accessories that I would like to recommend since you did mention safety.

1 Window Switch
2 Nitrous Filter
3 Blowdown Tube - Unless bottle is behind dedicated firewall

A few accessories that I'd recommend to help get the most out of your kit would be:

1 Purge
2 Heater

Obviously a colder set of plugs are a must. Take a look at the All-Out accessory pack to have everything I listed above minus kit and arming switchplate.

Similar but we put a purge button in there too.

We match all our plates to the opening on the intake manifold for the guys that do want to run a ported throttle body. That opening on the S-197 is 62mm. Got ya covered buddy

Nick, after some of the shit I've seen that tape hold onto my car, it can hold my cup holder/gauge set up any time with out me worrying about it!

I'm glad to hear that your plate is matched to the intake side as I'm running the same TB Matt is. Is there any word when the stand a lone fuel system will be available for the S197, or are there any plans for making one that doesn't require the relocation of the battery?
