Anyone using the "Dual Mode" Raptor shift light?

I was going to order 1 tonight and couldnt decide on color of LED. When looking around at different pics on their site I came across the dual band which has the shift light rpm setting and an rpm setting for where you want to launch. That would be a big help if your foot-braking it so you can keep your eyes on the tree. Just wanted to see if anyone is using it and if so has it been helpful for you?

i have one, and it does help to find your rpm range when launching. i've got a standard transmission, so it's a little harder to hold the light steady if you set the launch band to narrow, but with an auto i imagine it might be a little easier. it takes a few minutes to reprogram it though any time you want to change the settings and requires adequate light to see all the little numbers. i think i must have the first one that a s197 owner bought because they revised the installation instructions while i was trying to install mine because they were pretty unclear.

I installed one in my car, and couldn't be happier with it. I didn't like splicing into the PCM, but whatever it works awesome.

10-4, that's where you have to be careful...the newer instructions do help to clarify what needs to be done though

How long did it take you to install, start to finish?

And thanks to everyone for the replies. I'm just trying to decide whether I want the blue led's or the yellow. I think I'll go with blue because thats what I keep my gauge color on. Yellow would be cool considering my car is yellow though. Decisions, decisions.....

It depends, now that I've done it I could probably have it wired and everything tucked away with wire loom in a few hours. When I first started installing it, I was using T-Splices but ran into trouble trying to splice into the PCM. I just ended up using some insulated wire connectors that has the heat shrink around them, and those worked real well for me. IMO the blue LEDs look awesome, especially if your mycolor gauges are set to blue.

I just used the directions, its pretty simple. The best advise is to just take your time when splicing the PCM though, and be patient. There isn't a whole lot of extra wire to play around with after you cut the PCM wire. You will need extra wire to reach around to the engine bay too, because what is suppiled won't reach to where you need it to.

What was the problem with using the T-taps? Just curious as I've had good luck using them in the past. You have to pay attention to what size you are using, though. Using a size too big causes gremlins..

The main problem I had with the T-splices came from when you had to splice into the PCM. Its just really tight quarters in there (damn big hands), and there isn't a lot of extra wire to play with when you're splicing. It just got really frustrating so I went with wire connectors instead. Not saying it is the right or wrong way to do it, but it worked best for me. I, honestly, could have used t-splices when I spliced into the 12V source and coil driver 1 because they were easier to get at, but I just stuck with the wire connectors because they were working.

it taps into the speedometer wire....if it has 0 mph, the launch light comes one, if it's rolling, the shift light comes on

if you buy one it needs to be mounted on the dash or a pillar so you can easily adjust the settings. mounting it in the dash will prevent operating the dials that control all the settings

i Left it out and set it before i put it in, got it all set, then just a couple of wraps of black tape as a bushing, and slid it in. It holds nicely and ive never had an issue with it
