Vinny some great points brought out. I feel pretty lucky to have Ken local to me as well. Your car is a masterpiece, I drool a little everytime I see it at the shop.

Buy the way. I named this post there goes the neighborhoo because that what ken says to me when I post. I don't know how much it helps but I hope it sheds some light.

What did we learn from chevy killer.

1) allways make sure we talk to both shop and engine builder and make sure what we want to change in mid build will work
2) check every thing when cams are bent when first started
pulling heads would have been cheaper

oil pumps

guys when it comes to pumps. they are the life blood of yor build.
you can use the best parts in the world. but if the pump is not right then all will fail.

i'll say it again its just not the pump

it is very critical that the pan and the oil pick up and filter location.windage tray
block and heads need to be worked on for better oiling
whether you are road racing or dragracing.

it is the heart of your motor

sorry ken i didn't see your post

yes we are going to kick butt

Vinny, as an employee at a converter shop (PTC), I see exactly where you come from with sitting down and discussing what is needed for the right product to be brought out. We see that case everyday. We custom build the converter to the customer's specs.

Secondly, I definitely appreciate this post, and all the other's for their info as well.

Thirdly, I would really like to talk to you, Ken, Mark, etc. etc. before I tackle my build head first.

Thanks,
Chris

One of the best posts I've read in quite a while. I try to preach most of what you said to some of the younger guys here. Also as a precursor to that I try to instill in the to take the time and make a "Plan" of what they want to do, and then determine their buget first. To arbitrarily throw parts at a car Esp before hand IMO is Dumb! However there are those who unfortunately will have to learn things the Hard Way. Once again Excellent post! Now, How bout helping me get 475 to the wheels NA before Gas? And on a budget! LOL

am going. It's time to go under the radar for awhile
