name that connector

I've got an electrical connector that isn't plugged into anything. It is round like an o2 connector except this connector sticks out only 2-3 inches from the main conduit/harness that runs around the back of the engine. This connector is right between the firewall and the back of the intake manifold.

I'm fairly sure it isn't an o2 connector because the o2 connectors are down a lot lower and against the sides of the transmission.

Now....name that connector and win a prize!

Seriously...I'm debugging some stuff and need to know what this is.

So since I have a supercharger, does that mean this is supposed to be unconnected? I know I don't have CMC's anymore.

Better go check my supercharger install instructions....

Yep, step 9 of 176 in the E-Force install doc says...

III. Removing Engine Components
9. Detach the charge motion control valve (CMCV)
electrical connector at the rear of the manifold. Seperate
the wiring retainers from the intake manifold stud and the
CMCV bracket, then move the wiring harness to the side.

ding ding ding! We have a winner. Thanks!

Not so much an install. I've had the SC going for a while now.

I've got apeshit crazy o2 problems right after a clutch install. I saw a post from chad05gt saying he had a similar problem which turned out to be pinched o2 wires.

So I'm gonna replace my o2 extensions and HOPE AND PRAY that's the problem. Don't know what I'd do if the o2 wires from the main harness are messed up....don't know how I'd know whether or not they are messed up either.

Check around top of bell housing, real easy to
pinch front O2 wires when replacing clutch.

What kind of O2 problem are you having?

Cold starts. Short term fuel trim starts out close to 1 and hangs out there for 30-40 seconds...good. Then short term fuel trim steadily goes down to .6. Car runs rough, studders, rpm drops real low if I coast. This goes on for 30-40 seconds.

From that point - if I'm just idling the whole time, the short term fuel trims go up to 1.3 and the car runs so rough the whole car shakes. This goes on 30 seconds or so the the short term fuel trim settles down to around 1 and the car behaves fine from then on.

Instead of idling as I mentioned, If I start driving right after I crank the car, the short term fuel trims drop to .6 as I said, but then the don't increase to 1.3. They increase to around 1 and the car is fine from then on.

Idle or driving - I get a 02 delayed response code a few minutes after the cold start. Yes, the tune is setup for the longtube headers that I have.

All of this tells me the O2s are not getting warmed up quick enough on cold starts. Warm starts are fine. Driving around with the engine at operating temp is fine.

I recently had a clutch changed and I suspect something happened to the O2s in that process. Maybe they got banged up when my exhaust was moved for the tranny work. Maybe the O2 wires got pinched.

Sounds to me like the heater wires (inside the O2 wire harness) is messed up.

....anybody know what module or circuit powers the O2 heaters? Wonder if that is messed up. I looked around and didn't see any obvious sign of a wire being pinched.

I ordered new O2 extensions and that will be the next thing I try out.

I replaced a clutch one time and when I reinstalled the transmisson I unknowingly pinched the front o2 wires between the tranny and the block. The car had similiar problems like yours. Not saying this is your problem. Just an experience I had. I had to remove the tranny again and resplice the wires.

Did you pinch the O2 extension wires or the stock O2 wires that hang out of the main engine harness? I sure hope my problem is in the extensions.

I've looked around and nothing is pinched right now. But they could have pinched something during the install.

I see no obvious signs of damaged wires anywhere under the car or around the transmission. Fingers crossed on trying some new O2 extensions in a couple days.

I pinched the main harness on the back of the intake. Not the extensions. I didn't see it either. I ended up just feeling around on top of the bellhousing for the wires.
