Well what about the other tube coming out of the valve cover? Do you have a breather on that too?

The breather in front is the oil cap breather. What about the one behind it. Where is that hooked to?

No...the tube on the passenger side valve cover behind the oil fill cap is capped off. I figured I could do that since I have the breather on the oil fill.

Oh I see what your saying. You need to get another breather on that if you want to not have so much oil on the cap breather. Right now all of your crankcase gases are going out through the filler neck. With two ways out you will get a lot less oil in there.

Just wanted to add that I run an oil seperator (just on the driver's side). It's from UPR. I ran a PCV valve in line before the oil seperator to minimize the amount of oil getting through in the first place. Works well with the supercharger. I end up dumping about an ounce or two per month from the can. I mounted it on the firewall above the driver's side cam cover....

From what 07 Boss wrote, there's already a built in pcv valve in the driver's valve cover.

I think he was talking about the in line on the driver's side but that is really the out line on a closed system. He has a properly set up catch can on a closed system.

You now and I have an open system and the flow is reversed, kinda.

I just figured he wouldn't need another pcv valve on the driver's side since there's already one in the valve cover. I still am quite a novice with this so please correct me if I'm wrong.

He didn't put another valve in, he ran the line from the PCV to the catch can, then to his manifold. He put the catch can in to trap the oil and stuff in the crankcase gas before it re-enters his motor.

If you look closely at the first picture you'll see it there a few inches after the tube that comes out of the valve cover heading towards the separator.

It seems that you are correct sir, I stand corrected. But why would you run two valves there? You are right, makes no sense to me.

Please don't take it that I was trying to be right, I just want to make sure that no damage can occur from that set-up. I am not knowledgable at all when it comes to this in any way. I'm also still wondering if my current set-up is safe and that I'm not blocking any pressure or vacuum.

I'm running a PCV valve in line between the driver's cam cover and the oil catch can, just as Vortech ran a PCV valve in the same way (except no catch can) with the supercharger system I bought. I believe they engineered their supercharger system that way for a reason (to keep as much oily blow by out of the intake stream as possible since that effectively messes with octane rating, A/F ratio, and causes carbon buildup downstream). I simply enhanced the Vortech system by adding the catch can in line with their setup to get even more oily blow by out of the equation. So far, it's working well (I installed the catch can over a year ago and this is a daily driver that's drag raced a lot in the summer).

I researched my catch can set up for a long time before doing it. I believe it is set up correctly for my car's situation. I'm new to these forums, but have been very active in other Mustang forums for more than 10 years and some of you probably know me from those other forums.

I just checked my throttle body today and had a bunch of oil in their. I need help finding out what to get to stop this

My setup uses two Jaz mini breather catch cans and one oil filler tube breather. I found this to be the best setup as opposed to using a regular catch can or breathers directly on the valve covers. Catch cans still let a little oil into the intake and breathers directly on the valve covers tend to get dirty with oil vapors...

That's a nice set up. Do you actually get any oil in the catch cans since they are also breathers?

Everything I have ever read and practiced is either all breathers (open system) or a catch can with no breathers (closed system). Both sides must be the same.

I got two breather cans. I like them because with just breathers I have read reports of the oil building up and and dripping out to filters. Even the short distance I drove my car while I had it running oil built up in the breather can.

I don't get any oil, but I do get this yellow liquid with white blobs of stuff in it... Here is a pic:

Same here, but before I put the catch can on mine it was getting all sorts of oil up in the intake. It was just straight up motor oil, it didn't look like that at all.
