Is there anyways to lower intake temps safely. I really don't want to run meth after reading more about it. I have a turboed car and it was 82 out yesterday and my intake pipe was really warm. Would a turbo blanket help?
I would think an intercooler spray bar would work. Something like this http://www.amazon.com/NOS-16034-Intercooler-Spray-Bar/dp/B000COYBCWWould nitrous work.

they dont do jack shit
yes get a turbo blanket, wrap you pipes and have them coated. what is the iat getting to. jsut because the pipe is warm doesnt mean the iat are high.data log at cruise and at wide open throttle.
to cool IAT you can either remove the heat from your intake air stream via Meth, Meth&water, Water, N20, A2A Inter-cooler, W2A Inter-cooler, larger water reservoir for your W2A, add ice to your reservoir.
Or you can remove heat from your engine bay, i.e. vents in the hood/side panels to lower temp in engine bay, or coat your headers/wrap(or both) to keep the heat from ever getting in your bay.
Thats about it. Nothing else really works. the N2O sprayers on your inter cooler dont have any measurable effect. but look/sound cool!
See my thing is, is I feel like when its like hot out my car is dog slow. Almost like heat soaked so bad it doesn't want to move.
What's your hang-up over water/meth exactly?
From what I was reading, if someone doesn't know how to tune for it it can be a very bad experience. Then if you don't run it right it seems like some cylinders can get to much and cause your motor to pop. Does that seem right or am I being to conservative? If someone like you told me to run it and how to run I wouldn't second guess it.
Steedman what stage of snow did you go with, also how many nozzles are you running?
On a turbo car I was seeing spray like in the intake pipe and also into the turbo? Then I read that it can harm the propellers.

You beat me to it. Meth would really help him. My car felt N/A on really hot days and sustained boost. Didnt want to get out of its own way..Meth and another pro tune cured that.
Where would be the best place for me to spray my car at you think?
