I have an '07. Only bug is the asshole owner's son who won't leave shit alone.![]()
I don't know if it's been mentioned. But any possibility that there's a direct correlation in the amount of movement each individuals manifold flexes and the varying results people are seeing on a dyno? I would think this movement could cause a fluctuation in flow.
It only "moves" under vacuum. At wide open throttle the manifold is in its natural state. Any/all movement should have no effect on hp.
WILL YOU please stop...omg... Because of you I have checked several times...the freaking thing moves WHEN you first apply the throttle=NO VACUUM then returns back to the correct state while rpms are dropping. GO PUT YOURS ON then rev the freaking thing and SEE with your own eyes ITS NOT VACUUM.... people are getting mixed answers on here. And you of all people have no experience with it because yours is STILL IN ITS BOX..... go do that before you post technical experience with a product you have no knowledge on except in someone elses videos.... thank you

If you rev the car hard or go wot for a dyno pull there is little to no flex. The bigger movement is only doing a quick rev when the car goes from vac to zero back to vac real quick then you get the more noticeable bulge out/in effect.
On that note. The movement is not enough to bother me at all, and I will not be removing it. And plan to turn the boost up soon. Currently been running 12lbs on it for a month. About 500 miles.

what about going from WOT for a 1/4 mile then nailing the brake at the finish line...i would classify that as going from 12lbs to pulling vac very quickly...i hope you are right and that the intake holds up otherwise it could be a disaster down the road...

Jesus Christ! Use your fucking brain and think for a second.

BBR new adjustable motor mounts will help it some. Anybody have that set up . I'm using the motor mounts but at this point hell no on the new intake.Welp mine is doing the shit too. I hope FRPP knows what the hell they are saying.
BTW no chance on FRPP strut tower brace clearing. It needs a good inch drop.

One of the best mods I have ever done. I could not be happier and I love the way the car responds with them. A great mod for the money. How do you like those? I've been looking at motor mount options as my motor shakes a lot too.
19cobra93 is right. On start up vac pulls the top of the manifold down, I have a stb going over my manifold and you can see the top pull down from the stb slightly at start up, stays that way at idle. When we rev the car, the vac goes away the top comes back up and you see the sides bulge out slightly then as the vac comes back the sides move in, Back to this slightly deformed at idle/vac state.
Sat and did the black lung tests again last night with 3 other local forum members before we tackled the cam installs.
If you rev the car hard or go wot for a dyno pull there is little to no flex. The bigger movement is only doing a quick rev when the car goes from vac to zero back to vac real quick then you get the more noticeable bulge out/in effect. When you turn off the car off there is very little movement( going from vac to zero). I can only replicate the black lung on start up. (zero to vac) And quick revs (vac to zero back to vac) on a quick 1-2 sec rev.
On that note. The movement is not enough to bother me at all, and I will not be removing it. And plan to turn the boost up soon. Currently been running 12lbs on it for a month. About 500 miles.
I laughed.. thank you sir. People like you and sudden out bursts and attacks on others when you clearly have very little knowledge about the process on how a motor operates in a technical aspect or you wouldn't be putting someone down when they clearly have valid points.
Thanks, i just feel like I got ripped off. This is not what I was sold on. Had they said some deflection was possible no one would have bought the thing. I bet since this thread has started they have prolly not sold to many to guys on this forum. Everything else I have gotten from FRPP is great stuff, this intake just doesn't cut it for me. But thanks for the vid I get it now..
19cobra93 is correct along with Light! I can take a video of my boost gauge while idling and revving if that will help you with the idea of the vacuum. Actually here is a quick video of what happens when you step on the gas.
