WILL YOU please stop...omg... Because of you I have checked several times...the freaking thing moves WHEN you first apply the throttle=NO VACUUM then returns back to the correct state while rpms are dropping. GO PUT YOURS ON then rev the freaking thing and SEE with your own eyes ITS NOT VACUUM.... people are getting mixed answers on here. And you of all people have no experience with it because yours is STILL IN ITS BOX..... go do that before you post technical experience with a product you have no knowledge on except in someone elses videos.... thank you

Thanks, i just feel like I got ripped off. This is not what I was sold on. Had they said some deflection was possible no one would have bought the thing. I bet since this thread has started they have prolly not sold to many to guys on this forum. Everything else I have gotten from FRPP is great stuff, this intake just doesn't cut it for me. But thanks for the vid I get it now..
Not a problem bud; at work we have some serious vacuum equipment that i've seen to get an idea of how it works. We have to pull ridiculous amounts of vacuum on doors that open up during a rocket flight to expose experimenters equipment(telescopes, etc...)

I am leaving mine on aswell, but it bothers me, I have a STB (Bullitt) too and I worry it may rub

I built my car my self, its not the first either bud. I respect him enough not to just dog cuss him out although Im sick of reading the same "its vacuum". I understand how vacuum works and that when the throttle is pressed, more vacuum is measured, but it doesnt suck in, it pushes out, but after reading lightblades explanation I understand. I havnt looked at it that way only on the side. Now I went and had my wife rev mine and watched the top of the intake between STB and didnt see any movement there, only at the rails. The Biggest complaint I have is that my stock intake made no movement, this was advertised as better than OE, movement is not better than OE. Its gonna eventually cause some people some problems. Maybe I will skate by, maybe not. But its not what I was sold on..... and 19cobra93, Im sorry for the outburst....

I have the prothane motor mounts. The engine/manifold does not move at all. No vibration or rubbing and my steeda stb touches the manifold just a hair in the center. The solid motor mounts are a good investment!

Like it just fine, with the manifold on my turbo setup, I was up 32rwhp and 21rwtq at 3500 rpms.

Cant wait to get a good tune and do some full dyno pulls in some better weather!

When When When? YOu need to get that thing going man! I've already got DP's ready to go on. I'm just trying to figure out if I want to do a BC or stay where I am and just do the plates.

The delete plates should show some good gains, 8lbs is plenty for that stock shortblock with a turbo.

Not sure on the tune yet, maybe end of this week or next.

How the fuck does the boost INCREASE twenty pulls after installing a HIGHER FLOWING INTAKE MANIFOLD????????

Bullitdyno.jpg

Boost should have dropped after the install. However, this graph shows it has increased. Pulley change perhaps? Could that be where the increase from 4K on up came from?

We were surprised by the lack of boost drop also, but it is what it is, and we did this test as fair as we could because we wanted to know the results for ourselves.
As for the number of pulls between the before and after, [FONT=verdana, arial, helvetica]the factory ECU was giving us problems with the dual FPDMs. Every time I would turn the IMRC switch off I would lose fuel pump control and the fuel pump duty cycle would become erratic. It took that many pulls to get it straight. Most of the pulls were only to 3000rpm.

My buddy just installed one on his '09 a couple days ago, and he brought it over to show me. It does exactly the same thing as in the OP's video. I'll admit, it is pretty interesting to watch. I still stand firm though that no problems will come from it.
