What is sport mode- is that some sort of automatic thing? I read a lot about it but don't understand it.

I just hold the brake and the T/C button for five seconds before I first put the car into gear so I don't have to guess. :D

while depressing the brake pedal, double tap the traction control button. It will display sport mode in the instiment cluster info center.

Owners manual has a full explanation. There are 3 modes:

1. Traction control off = stability control on, traction control off
2. AdvanceTrac Sport mode = stability and traction control on but allow for more spirited driving
3. AdvanceTrac off = stability and traction control off

When you are at the track, you want to have AdvanceTrac off. To engage, step on the brake and hold the traction control button down for roughly 10 second. A message will display AdvanceTrac off.

Hope that helps. :)

AdvanceTrac will allow only 3 degrees of yaw...
Sport mode allows "Up to" 10 degrees. I asked all about this feature at the AAI plant tour. It does seem as if sport mode might make a good choice for autocrossers, but I dunno. It's some real science...at the track event (proving grounds) they were throwing the car around HARD at about 80mph, the darn thing will not spin out nor flip over.
Frankly, I thought the way they see-sawed on the wheel at these speeds that we should flip over!

I always drive in sport mode.
Steering is much firmer and you can spin the tires without the back end taking off on you.
Confirm brakes on and double tap the button, you can even do it while in motion.

I leave the thing on in full mode and still spin the tires. ;)

Does anybody know if there is a way to make sport mode stay on after you shut the car off and restart? I have to turn it on every time I start the car.

Can't be done. Sorry Dude.

Well, technically it can be done, but it requires a high degree of working knowledge of electronics and wiring. It's not for the faint of heart. I can't remember the procedure myself but i know it involves a relay and a good bit of wiring. The procedure is either on this site or on TMS; I can't remember which. I'll see if I can dig it up for you.

I've seen it done, you just install a latching relay that "holds" the Advancetrac button down and it will disengage it when the car is started.

The button ? says Traction Control..Dis engaging TC does not eliminate AdvanceTrac Completely
or am i missing something?
