After running one single pass in the 11's earlier this year (11.85 @ 113.5), I took a wrong turn in my setup and proceeded to run low to mid 12's all season. Finally dialed in some issues and found my groove last Saturday at Pacific Raceways (FKA Seattle Int'l Raceway). It was a busy day at the track, so I only got three (3) runs in....

Race weight was 3,660 lbs (including me). This is 80 lbs more than normal as I left the car alone. I normally pull the passenger & rear seats, but wanted to see what it would do in "street" trim. I did run drag radials, but otherwise, just as I run the car as my daily driver....

1st pass was against a Mercedes-Benz AMG E63. He ran an 11.67 @ 119+, but I took him at the starting line and beat him (barely) with an 11.85 @ 114.

2nd pass was against my friend, Rhonda, in her basically stock '11 GT automatic. My worst run of the day, but I'm okay with my "worst" being a 12.01 @ 113+. My 60' wasn't so great and I spun just a tad, costing me an 11-second timeslip for this pass.

3rd and final pass I made sure to heat the hides really well. Didn't want to blow the launch. Held as many revs as I could against the brakes, and raced my pal, Rhonda, again. Ran my best ever pass at 11.79 @ 113.92. Car rocketed off the line (1.66 sixty foot) and poor Rhonda never had a chance (although she ran a respectable 12.30 @ 113+).

My average ET for the day was 11.88, so I'm ready to call my GT an 11-second ride finally!

Here's my timeslips for the day followed by videos (click on them to play). I'm car #5207 in the left lane for each pass...

Nice man!! What were the temps out? What rpm are you leaving at??

Thanks. Temps were 50-56 with DA slightly below sea level. Our local tracks are near sea level anyway, so we're blessed with pretty good racing weather most of the time around here.

I held the revs as high as I could against the brakes - not quite 2500 rpm's. My converter flashes to 4800 rpm's and I have 4.10 gears so first gear goes by rather quickly.

you are lucky, my track a good day for the DA would be 6500ft, thats a good day. 11's in a daily driver are tough up here...

I always freak out whenever I take my cars to a lower altitude at how much power they pick up..

Nice!

I am hoping to get my DR on and the HE upgrade wrapped up next week and try to hit the track with these nice temps before the end of the season.

Your car has been running very good Brian. Your combination of parts and your tune work very well together. You won't need to do much to achieve your 11.50 goal for next year. Nice job on finishing the season with a new best.

I have yet to see an E-Force Mustang at our local tracks, even though I know several people who have them around here. Post up some #'s when you get to the track so we can see how they perform. I suspect that at your power level that mid 11's around 120 mph would be likely.

Thanks, Marc. Thanks for listening and bouncing ideas back & forth with me all season. You definitely helped point me in the right direction so I could figure out what needed to be changed.

Good question! I'll be done modding once I hit 11.50 as I won't put a cage in my car (dailly driver). I wonder which of us will trap 120 mph first?

I am not throwing anymore power at it till I do a SB..So for this winter, it will be lightening it up some and big and littles..MAybe an intercooler strictly for IAT's, not for more power..My MPH is down because there is a flat spot on my power curve. I can feel it in fourth gear, at about 5,300 rpm's, it feels like it gets hit with a shot of nitrous..

Do you still have the stock torque converter? Going aftermarket netted me 3 tenths in the 1/4 mile. That would get you to the 11.50's reallly easy.

Will an intercooler keep IAT's down better than the water-methanol you're running? I've been considering water-methanol this winter. I thought the water-methanol's big selling point was keeping IAT's down while also providing more octane. Are you tuned for the meth, or just using it to cool?

I have a 3,000 TC from PTC. I finally learned where to launch it. Foot braking it to about 2,000 rpm only netted me the 11.84, and the 60 ft. was still shitty at 1.88..I have a custom tune for the meth, Snow safe injection and meth flow gauge. I dont datalog my IAT's at the track though. But they werent too bad on the dyno. Meth does keep the IAT's down pretty well, but I still get nervous at 12 lbs. of boost that even with the safe inj, if it stops flowing, then kaboom.

better link...

It is flattening out for some reason..

Strange dyno graph with a noticable dip in torque from roughly 4500 to 5500 rpm's for your car. Maybe your torque converter can't handle the power and unlocks? I know that my stall converter has twice the clutch area vs a stock converter allowing it to lock up at WOT even with a blower.

It did it when I had the stocker in there. I think it may be the stage 1 Comp blower cams..It really didnt do it before the cams..Here is the latest dyno before the meth and cams and TC..
