After running one single pass in the 11's earlier this year (11.85 @ 113.5), I took a wrong turn in my setup and proceeded to run low to mid 12's all season. Finally dialed in some issues and found my groove last Saturday at Pacific Raceways (FKA Seattle Int'l Raceway). It was a busy day at the track, so I only got three (3) runs in....
Race weight was 3,660 lbs (including me). This is 80 lbs more than normal as I left the car alone. I normally pull the passenger & rear seats, but wanted to see what it would do in "street" trim. I did run drag radials, but otherwise, just as I run the car as my daily driver....
1st pass was against a Mercedes-Benz AMG E63. He ran an 11.67 @ 119+, but I took him at the starting line and beat him (barely) with an 11.85 @ 114.
2nd pass was against my friend, Rhonda, in her basically stock '11 GT automatic. My worst run of the day, but I'm okay with my "worst" being a 12.01 @ 113+. My 60' wasn't so great and I spun just a tad, costing me an 11-second timeslip for this pass.
3rd and final pass I made sure to heat the hides really well. Didn't want to blow the launch. Held as many revs as I could against the brakes, and raced my pal, Rhonda, again. Ran my best ever pass at 11.79 @ 113.92. Car rocketed off the line (1.66 sixty foot) and poor Rhonda never had a chance (although she ran a respectable 12.30 @ 113+).
My average ET for the day was 11.88, so I'm ready to call my GT an 11-second ride finally!
Here's my timeslips for the day followed by videos (click on them to play). I'm car #5207 in the left lane for each pass...
