Really debating on trading my 06' in on a 04' Termi. I think the only thing really stopping me is I think the interior in the 94'-04's are just hideous! But that is the only negative. Mine has 30000mi., cobra has 50000mi. Oh the decisions.........Oh yeah, the Cobra is only $17900! :deadhorse:

Not sure yet. They do have another 06 on the lot for 17900 but it is an auto, and it only has 17" wheels. So since they are selling at near trade in values I am not thinking a whole lot. Mine is a 5spd w/18's so the 5spd should get me a little more since they typically sell for more, around here anyways.

I think I am leaning in that direction!!! I think I will go think about it with a few beeeeeeeers! lol

you only live once bro, go get the Cobra. There will be other S197s around if you ever want to go back. Now is the time if you're on the fence. One thing you can take off your bucket list.

I was thinking of doing the same but I don't think I would want to trade my car in as I would probably get raped. It has about 85,000 miles and I have spent about $3000 parts and labor on mods.

Only way I would trade my GT in on a 03/04 Cobra is if the Cobra was Comp Orange or Sonic Blue with low miles and minimal modifications.

I do not understand why you want to trade a car in that has 30k miles for one with 50k, especially 50k that probably weren't easy miles. Why not take the money you would have spent on the Cobra and just build your car up? Or, are you still making outrageous payments on the '06 and see the Cobra as a way to get more power while keeping the "payments" around the same?

I do admit that the 03/04 Cobra's are some very sexy looking cars, but I'm not sure if it's worth going backwards over. That's just my opinion on the matter.

Decisions

I just went through the same thing, although I was looking to trade my C5 Corvette for either the terminator Cobra or the S197 GT. I test drove 2 Cobras and 3 GT's, ended up choosing a 2005 GT w/FRPP cam and headers. I loved the power of the Cobras, but couldn't get past the dated look of the front end or the interior. The looks of the S197 blow away the Cobra, both int. and ext... I figured 99% of the time you can't really use all that power of the Cobra anyway driving in traffic.

OP, what do you have done to your car? If it is stock, I would go for it since you wouldn't be out the money in performance parts.

I wouldn't do the trade if your just doing it to have a faster car. I thought about getting a termi when I purchased my car new, they were about the same price at the time. I just couldn't justify paying the same amount of money for an older car with more mileage simply because it's easier to make faster with just bolton's. My car is a comfortable DD. Have you thought of keeping your car and purchasing a foxbody/sn95 shell (those are like 500-1500 max) and make that your "fun" car.

Keep your car. 30k mile GT > 50k mile Termi. Like you said, the interior is HIDEOUS & extremely dated. Main reason I got rid of my 03. And you will get raped on trade in. Build you car up instead...better looking and lower miles.

there are some cars that are iconic;

70 Boss 302
70 Cuda hemi
69 Camaro Z28
66 GT350 Mustang
64 Shelby Cobra
Jag XKE 4.2
63 split window Vette

on and on. I do think the 03-04 Terminators should be, or are in this group of cars. I'm all for at least trying as many experiences as we can jam into our short lives. A built 05-06 Mustang will still always be a 05-06 Mustang. A Terminator, an AAR Cuda, an 87 GNR and many others are all cars we should experience if we can. For a short time probably, but still owning and enjoying it and it's quirks is the point.
