I've personally made 733 rwhp on 21 psi with a 2.6H through a TR3650. That same setup made 660 rwhp through my 4STB-E and a loose converter. All this was with 93 octane gas in the tank.

Had the following:
KB 2.6H @ 21 psi
ST Motorsports Intake System
Forged 302 Stroker 9.3:1 CR
BBR ST. 2 Cams
Dynotec Longtubes 1 3/4"
3" exhaust dumped at rear axle

I made 530 with low timing to keep my shorblock alive but with my timing advanced on pump gas I made 565 on a MD! A/F was 11.2 My mods are in my sig! Im on 10lbs so Id say 700 would be fairly easy considering im on a stage 1 2.6KB

If I add 10lbs of boost at approximately 15hp per pound that equates to 150hp plus I will have a 5.0 stroker by then to add to the mix, yeah 750 is possible.

Check this link! KB claims 675rwhp with a 2.6 without heads, cams, exhaust!

Well shit, with simple math I guess you can make 750. How'd I miss that? I'm as power hungry as the next guy, why do you think I moved up to a 2.8? Cause I like spending money?

And if 750 is so easily reachable with a 2.6, where are all of the 700 HP cars? Everyone with a 2.6 is at 600 or less...

You moved up to 2.8 because you had a 2.4! Why stop at a 2.6 if your upgrading? Dont blame you! Theres a diff between your old 2.4 and a 2.6 though! I never said 750 would be easy, I said 700. I think most arent interested in much more power than 600 on a street car. It gets unusable. Not to mention the cost of all the upgrades to fuel and intercooler blah blah blah, most just dont want it nor do they wanna deal with belt slip and more upgrading for that issue and breakage. Most people are burnt out by the time they do a shortblock and dnt wanna risk fuckin it up to turn the wick up!

Look again at post 21 733rwhp on a 2.6!

One more thing, dyno numbers are just that really. Numbers? Maybe your on a non forgiving dyno and some of the others are on generous dynos? Who gives a shit really? I dont, but theres no need to start being a smart ass bout it!

I was just giving the OP my experiences an opinion, I may be wrong but when I get a short block im gonna find the fuck out!

Do you know what the difference was between my 2.4 and the 2.6? Kenne Bell switched from the Autorotor Design, as far as output, there was basically zero difference between mine and the newer 2.6's at my shop using a Dynojet. BTW, I do have a stroker motor as well.

Like I said, I made 600RWHP with an aggressive tune, and spinning that blower with the smallest blower pulley I could get (look at the pulley in my picture). Trust me, I did want more than 600 on the street. But more than 600, the 2.6 is out of gas, is being overspun, and is pushing a lot of heat.

My main point is, I haven't seen anyone making over 700RWHP with a 2.6 w/o the use of nitrous. I'm not being a smart ass, I'm giving the OP the info off of my experience and pretty much common knowledge, not opinion.

I guess your one of those hoping this car is down so you can feel better about being you? Doesnt matter where its at now!

Do you think I want someone's motor to be peices to feel better about myself? We're all on this forum to help each other out. I don't wish ill will on others, you really don't know me at all to make that accusation. I didn't get ahead in life by stepping on others, and I don't do the same with this hobby. This forum is here for us to help each other out and share advice and experiences. Would anyone here not benefit from learning the trials as well as the mistakes of others on this board?

I was curious about where the car is now since the car in his sig is making less 733RWHP. It's a simple question. I will apologize for coming off like a smart alec when I spoke of doing the math and it being that easy.

What's your point in posting this?

He is referring to using high boost and pump gas.

For what it's worth, my 2.6L put out more horsepower than a 2.4L KB in an '05 with identical mods (stock block/heads/cams/TB, KB BAP, 39 inj, 90mm Lightning MAF, etc) on back to back runs on the same dyno. And my car could run less timing and still put out more hp. The other guy put on a 10psi pulley the next week just so he could beat me, LOL!

So in my limited experience, the 2.6 is a tad better than the 2.4, which makes sense because the 2.6 is about 8% bigger.

Alot of opinions about boost and pump gas came out in that thread. It is worthwhile reading for anyone considering high boost with pump gas IMO.

Couldn't you see that?

BTW what are your experiences when increasing boost with pump gas? What kind of timing have you been able to run with x amount of boost? What was the result?

That car is waiting to get a 326 Big Bore put in it as a GT500 pump went out and toasted the passenger side if the 302 stroker.

That is the same car just a different transmission. The car lost 73 rwhp on the dyno when switching to the 4STB-E.

He is referring to using high boost and pump gas.

Here is a complete list of the car:
302 Stroker with 9.3:1 CR
Livernois Stage III Heads
60lbs injectors
BBR Stage II Cams with BBR Lock Outs
Dynotech Longtubes
3" X-pipe with 3" magnaflow magnpacks dumped at rear axle
Kenne Bell 2.6H with 2.5" upper and Stock Lower
ST Motorsports 4" inlet, Sheetmetal Rear Blower Intake, and 130mm Monoblade throttlebody, Mammoth Air Filter
PCV Vented to Atmosphere
Ford 9" with Detroit Locker and 4.11's
FB Performance 4STB-E with Lock Up, Overdrive, and Transbrake

Also the numbers in my Sig were done on 16psi (3 1/4" Upper Pulley)through that 4STB-E Automatic.

I see you keep saying 2.6 but which on do you have? 2.6S or 2.6H? I was spinning the 2.6H at almost max rpm and never had a problem with heat. I also was running the stock KB intercooler system with the addition of a battery box reservoir. Only time I had a temperature problem is when I didn't bleed the line good enough and had an air pocket.

Also I made 600 rwhp on 13-14 psi (3 1/2" pulley) with the stock 5 speed on 2 different dynos. So if you and your tuner can only make that with a 2 1/2" pulley then I suggest you find a new tuner.

here is a pic of mine when we first got it running. That is the 3 3/4" pulley when I had a IW 18% overdrive lower.

As the OP was asking (stock heads and cams), I too am running stock heads and through an auto, 1 5/8'' LT's with 2 1/2'' exhaust, as you're running the Stage III Ported Heads and 5 Speed when you made 600RWHP on 13-14#.

There's going to be a discepancy in boost and power between your car and my car. So to say I need to find a new tuner...

I'm not here to argue with you, just trying to help the OP answer a question.

I have to ask, where are you getting these figures from?

You're not going to make 750RWHP with a 2.6 on a 3V.

Look at the size of my blower pulley.
PHPokerRun068.jpg

You're not going to get much more boost out of a 2.6 than what I was making @ 20#'s of boost and 600RWHP, and not much more than that. Over 20#'s the 2.6 blower is no longer working efficiently and generating a lot of heat.

I agree, 21#'s is about the max and maybe a little to much unless you don't mind blower oil sprayed all over the inside of your hood. I'm about to go to the 2.8 for that very reason.

Happy New Year Jeff, did you get the hood painted yet? Are you going with the 2.8LC? Ken switched over to a Whipple 2.3HO set up.

Assume stock heads, cams, and a 9.8:1 aluminator. Assume adequate fuel system in place.

Approximately how much power can one expect to extract out of a 2.6L stage 2 kit with 93 pump fuel?

Just looking for some estimates trying to get an idea of how much this blower has in it.

Aluminator is stock cubes so 4.6 liters on pump gas, so 281 cubes not 302 or 323 cubes.

I've personally made 733 rwhp on 21 psi with a 2.6H through a TR3650. That same setup made 660 rwhp through my 4STB-E and a loose converter. All this was with 93 octane gas in the tank.

Had the following:
KB 2.6H @ 21 psi
ST Motorsports Intake System
Forged 302 Stroker 9.3:1 CR
BBR ST. 2 Cams
Dynotec Longtubes 1 3/4"
3" exhaust dumped at rear axle

302 Stroker with cams....Stage 2 cams

733 rwhp with Gods own build and a stroker motor with cams, how does that relate to a stock cam , stock head Aluminator?
