Thanks, I probably owned about ten different fox's in my twenties. I'm working on getting another coupe and possibly putting a coyote 5.0 in it.

funny story about Grand Nationals.. made a phone call to this chick i was seeing and her mother was in the car with her... her mother answered and i talked for a sec and she said what are you driving?! i can hear it through the phone.. needless to say i was driving the mustang... this is how the conversation went...

her mother: "i really like the new mustangs, i use to have a fast car but its just sitting in the shop now"

me: "oh really, what kind of car is it?"

her mother: "its a Grand National"

me: "holly shit!! wanna sell it?!"

she said she wouldn't.. she wanted to get it running again... :damnit:

In April of 1988 while going home from work..in my 83 Z28, I saw in a Ford used car lot this grey buick...caught my eye so I did a "U"-ey and stopped. This grey Buick was a Regal T-type...turns out the guy who bought it said the car was too fast and he traded the Buick in on a new Thunderbird turbo coupe. This T-type had 11k miles and everything the GN had, turbo 3.8/intercooler + all the amenities...but had grey paint, chrome bumpers and aluminum wheels. Asked how much and he said $11,400. Needless to say, I came home with the Buick. Next day my g/f came over and asked whose family car was in my driveway...but after a ride she was convinced it was a great buy. Added the 16in color matched wheels, rear wing, etc. Sold it after my son was born in 1990, time to "slow" down I thought. Many a open mouth as the Bu-Hog would pull away. In those years...IROC-Zs, Trans Ams, Corvettes, no chance... 5.0 LX mustangs though were the only ones I would have a concern for.

The Grand National has always been a car of my dreams, done right they can be so beastly! Many years agon on the Detroit street race scene there was a 7 second GN built by Kenny Duttweiler and the car was literally unbeatable at that time. The rumor is the car later ran 7.2x @ 181 mph.

hahahah a fellow mn12'er i had basically the same exact car, lowered it new kyb gr2 shocks, kn cai, alternating blinker mod (similar to sequential) clear corners, remote oil filter cause i hated the stock location mark 8 aluminum 1 peice drive shaft. i loved that car it was my first car sold it last july..... and boy do i regret it big time :( :asshat: fuck i miss that car.... honestly if i had to do it over gain i would have kept my tbird and dropped a o3-4 cobra motor in it.

It was a beast offroad. 2.5" Kings on the front with remote mounted res', Bilsteins in the rear with remote mounted res', Atlas rear leaf springs. Couple performance mods, 4.88s.

Thats what I was thinking, lol he must of had a malfunction the day he sold that one! I would have kept that any day! That was a beauty Nasty!

Appreciate it! No malfunction. It was never the same after clipping a telephone pole. Pouring rain, coming around a corner on 37s and 4.88s don't make for a happy ending!!

I had an '07 GTi. I miss that car to be honest, but it was in a different world than my GT. I installed a slightly bigger turbo putting down 300/330 at the wheels. One hell of a car.
