I believe it was alleged Ford Racing was coming out with a 90mm. But I have no proof.

I like BBK's products and you have to give it to them in the department of making a product under the hood look good. Easy bolt on but I don't think the power numbers would be that high on a bone stock engine. I agree it would probably be a good buy if you've got other bolt-on's that can go hand in hand with that additional air flow.

For years, before i was even into Mustangs, Everyone ive ever spoken with has said BBK is the cheap crap and to stay away from it. Why such a bad rap? Any truth in that?

The initial batch of the 62mm TB's they made for the 3V's had some issues, BBK fixed them and there are many of them out there running without problems....when I bought mine I was told not to get it but a friend had one who had zero issues with it so I took a chance and picked a used one up for $125...had zero issues with it and the stock/FRPP manifold are both 62mm in diameter so the BBK mates perfectly to it.

The reason people had issues with the 3V throttle bodies is because Ford used plastic gears in the stock pieces and aftermarket companies used brass or steel gears to make them stronger. However, they didn't account for the fact that it would throw off how the computer reacted to those gears being heavier than stock and it made the cars run like crap.

I rather like to know the CFM it can flow vs stock. TB size don't show how much it will flow

This thread is bordering on being moved as it's not really tech at the moment.

If this thread can develop some good tech info then it will stay.

Sorry guys.....cleaning house.

BBK's TB's are nothing but JUNK especially for DBW cars but in general. Go with a FRPP Throttle Body or L&M (who is the only company not directly linked with Ford doing it right....)

I really don't see the point when the manifold measures 83MM.

Someone should measure the inlet opening of the Boss manifold.

It is also 83mm.

Worthless putting anything larger than an 83mm TB on either the stock or Boss intake.

So you've tested it already?

:handjob:

This coming from a guy who bought shorty headers and didn't do a baseline dyno beforehand to prove what his gains were.

Do us all a favor and quit posting like you've tested every piece of equipment ever made for this car and arguing with vendors about how they do business or their pricing.

Until you know for a FACT what it will do, don't make statements of FACT.

Sorry, but reading your posts on here and on other related forums annoys the hell out of me and I'm sure many others.

:ftard:

If you don't like me put me on ignore dumbass. I don't give a shit if you or others care for my posts. I will call it like I see it and gladly admit if I am wrong. I have published track times and post dyno results with the mods I have. What have you contributed to the community? Let's see it. If you have nothing to contribute or add based off of personal experience then :stfu:.

If a vendor wants to post pricing on parts they sell in a technical sub-forum then they will be getting called out. If they post it in their sub-forum then that is their business. I have never posted anything in a vendor sub-forum raising issues with pricing or business ethics.

There isn't much material in the stock or Boss intakes to expand it out to match a larger TB. What you will find is that the intake tube facing part of the TB will be larger however will neck down to 83mm or less after the throttle blade. Unless there is enough area to properly taper, there will be a lip causing turbulence. This will have a negative impact.

You have anything technical to add on the topic? You have any personal experience you can tap into to add to the discussion?

I agree it needs to be tested before you can say its worthless. Why would Ford test and potentially market it if it was worthless? But then again maybe it is worthless and they won't market it. We will just have to wait and see and test.

Just because there is a lip doesn't mean it can't have the potential to make more power.
