Looking at going to a TR6060, can I use the same ECM or do I need to go with one from a stick car?

You can keep the auto computer. I think there are post already on this site with a complet list of everything you need for the swap.

There are gonna definately be some wiring issues to overcome. You need to swap the engine harness. The tranny harness is integrated into the main engine harness on the 05-10 4.6's. Also going to have to run 2 pairs of wires from the clutch to the ecu for the cruise deact and the neutral safety. Not sure what else may be required wiring wise.

You do not need to swap the engine harness in order to change from a auto to a manual transmission.

I am going to have this exact swap done early next week. for simplicity I got a manual ecm and the manual harness also got the harness that hooks up to the clutch switches and it plugs into a plug that is already behind the dash with a jumper plug in it. from all my research into this it is a little more involved than what I first thought. at the very least you will need to have the ecu reflashed to a manual and that will need a vin from the same year manual car and you will have to modify the engine harness to get it to work, all the plugs(for the trans) are not the same.

How do you know? The harness is different from an auto to a manual and there's different plugs for each tranny.

What did you end up paying for the manual ECM and from where?

He knows because he did the swap on my 06 and for another forum member as well.

Because I have personaly done it on a few cars. :thumb2:

Okay, that's good to know! Same ECM, same harness.

So all I need aside from the tranny, clutch, and shifter is the pedal assembly, reservoir, few switches and a crossmember.

BTW, what is the difference between the auto and the manual aftermarket driveshafts? The measure exactly the same but are different part numbers when you buy them?

that is a good guide but remember that the 6060 has a different connector set up than the 5 speed.

your current driveshaft MAY work.....some people can re-use them and some people cant. im going to try and re-use my aluminum one and see how close it is before i change out. the tr6060 is a hair longer.

you will need a slave line also, get the JPC braided line.

and a flywheel for that clutch

Its been a while since in did the one with the TR6060. It also reused the auto computer and harness. There may have been some pigtails replaced but it was no big deal (as far as the wiring goes). You also need to make sure that your tuner can handle the necessary changes for you.
