tr6060 swap coming soon.....what shifter?

ill be buying my parts for my swap pretty soon. im going to do a shifter while im at it.....i can get a new KR shifter from ford racing for around $125.

and with any other shifter i know i will need atleast a stock shifter because i know the parts from the stock shifter have to be used to make most of the aftermarket shifters work.

i had real issues with my 3650 and getting short shifters to work well, id rather it shift smooth than short, so im not willing to give up smoothness just so its shorter.

is the KR shifter decent?

Can't comment on the KR, but that's a very good price on it. I went big and got the MGW, feels just as good if not better than the MGW in my 3650. Very short but positive throws, haven't ever been locked out speed or power shifting yet either.

Comes down to do you wanna spring the extra cash for a shifter you know will work perfect.

I've got a Pro 5.0 shifter that's for sale. It's a great shifter with very a very positive feel. I'm selling it because I'm putting an automatic trans in my car. I'll let it go for $150 shipped. The stock 2010 GT500 shifter is supposed to be very similar to the KR shifter, and I didn't like it all that much. It felt a little mushy, and it was easy to miss 3rd.

well i grabbed the KR since i needed the stock parts anyway...and it was a geat price for $75 shipped! I may grab a MGW before the tranny goes in....but i would have needed the stock shifter parts to even make the MGW work.

The transmission shifter linkage. To order it you have to buy a shifter as its part of the stock shifter.

The mgw doesnt come with it it goes from the bottom of the shifter(blue) to the trans to change gears.

BTW....i got the KR shipped for $70 off ebay....brand new!

i may still go with a MGW.....just depends on funds when the tranny goes in.

KR shifter is the same as the ford racing shifter but KR has softer bushings, but still stiffer than stock GT500 shiftr. I have all three sitting here next to each other.

well, damn lol. I ended up buying a factory gt500 shifter off ebay then I purchased the MGW. BTW won't I need the factory ford bolts/shoulder pins to bolt all of this up to my tranny? OH and my 6060 is finally here YEAH!!!!!!!!!

I happen to have a bag full of them if you need to buy some. Most dealers say they only come with shifter assembly, but if you can get those lazy fks to look harder they are available separately.
