Ok, the dreaded P2135 and P2106 is back again to piss me off and make me hate the S197 again. Before I go on telling the story, I'll give a timeline:

September:
Car throw the 2135 and 2106 codes with fail safe mode every few block down the road. About to pull hair out. Piedmont Custom motorsports re-solders the extended wire per Whipple directions while car was getting Big Boost Kit upgrade. PCM is replaced also by ford dealer due to a the shops claim that they couldn't tune it without the original tuner (not for related to my TB issues). Problem gets better.

October:
Car throw the 2135 and 2106 codes with fail safe mode every few block down the road. About to pull hair out. Finally one day it throws it between every light in the damn city and eventually throws the damn P2105 and car has no signal between the pedal and TB. Car is able to restart, but no signal. After a few love taps on the stock TB it work again, but back to it normal 2135/2106 BS. Orders FRPP 62mm to replace POS TB.

POS TB replaced with FRPP TB and all is well. But car does seem to like the load in 3rd gear. I did not believe it was the TB this time. Car drives like normal in normal driving style.

December:
Schedule Custom Dyno tune by Pro-Dyno. Pro-Dyno replaces a old HT0 with a new set of HT0. They said the gap wasn't set on the old plugs (stock .040) and may caused the 3rd gear load issues (spark blow out). New gap at .032. New catted UPR x-pipe install. Dyno tuned by Dan. Car runs like beast. All is well.

January:
Notice driveability issues under load while in part throttle in higher gears. Mentioned to a few shops and the tune seemed to be the problem. Lived with it.

March:
Tune get worse during cruise and mildly rough idle. Threw one lean code once and never again. Car had a slight buck at low speed cruise.

April:
Same thing as above but a little worse. Wrench light fail safe comes on with 2135 and 2106 comes on once. I drive a few more days, just the tune issues again. Try Whipple tune, and everything is perfect again but throttle response left more to be desired, but feel great after driving under a slowly degrading tune.

May:
Car throw the 2135 and 2106 codes with fail safe mode every few block down the road. About to pull hair out. One shop on here says their mail order tune can fix it. The other says a factory computer reset (battery disconnect with other stuff) first would be worth a try. I attempted to reflash back with ProCal and the ProCal says this now: "err= init fl 001"

Im lost on this car. It's a frickin simple whipple kit that everyone and there mother has and yes I've searched. Most 2135/2106 threads go no where on any forum and I've tried all the fixes. Its like my car like eating TB and rejecting tunes.

Unless I missed it in your timeline, but have you ever replaced the TPS? I had the same 2 codes on my 2005 and the inside plastic of my TPS was bored out by the metal tang of the throttle body. I replaced it with a newer revision of our TPS that has 2 metal tabs on the inside of it that connect to the TB's tang and all is well *knocks on wood*

Search for my threads and you'll see pictures and my background...

But I do agree for those who have the 2135 & 2106/2105 problems that there are 100 different solutions that work for different people.

I had the same codes, that would throw under load in third gear too sometimes. I soldered all connections. That would be both sides of the splice for the TPS and the MAF. Go back and check the connections again. I did only one side of the splice and it still threw the codes. Did both sides of the splice, codes gone.

See that's the thing -- P2135 & P2105/2016 seem to occur for different reasons for supercharged guys who have to cut/solder wires for the TPS. I know it has happened for Whippled & Edlebrock guys alike & it always seems to happen because of their cutting of the wires.

There's a guy on here (I don't remember his name) but I do know he's from southeast Wisconsin (which is an all-around shitty place to live) who had some issue with his E-Force install and the TPS, something about needing a new one from Edlebrock or whatever. And, I think there was another guy experiencing TPS issues on his Whipple car as well. Just something to look into real good before you go purchase a new TPS or something else -- triple check those wires!

Yep, I might have been the guy with the whipple with the code problems you are thinking of remainvayne. I posted up on here multiple times about it until one day I checked the TPS wires and one pulled out of the connector!

Yes. The Custom tune was the one with third gear load issues and surging. Back to Whipple tune cured it, but not has responsive, powerful out of the hole, and TB issues came back. But I'm also saying the custom tune seemed to "once in a blue moon" throw the code. I tinkered around unplug and check some wires last nite and today (first day in a while) no codes or safe mode. I have no idea what I did. I done this before, but it manages to come back eventually.

Also I like to add, that sometimes after starting the car the idle is very rough and violent. I turn it off. Restart the car and its cleared up. Just trying to tell all the symptoms and variables to the issue.

That was done by the shop in September 2010 during the big boost kit upgrade. I got the car with a Non-IC Whipple with a 3.875 pulley in July 2010.

It wouldn't hurt to check their work. The connections have to be perfect, the voltage differences seen by the computer can be very small to throw a code.
