Ok, the dreaded P2135 and P2106 is back again to piss me off and make me hate the S197 again. Before I go on telling the story, I'll give a timeline:
September:
Car throw the 2135 and 2106 codes with fail safe mode every few block down the road. About to pull hair out. Piedmont Custom motorsports re-solders the extended wire per Whipple directions while car was getting Big Boost Kit upgrade. PCM is replaced also by ford dealer due to a the shops claim that they couldn't tune it without the original tuner (not for related to my TB issues). Problem gets better.
October:
Car throw the 2135 and 2106 codes with fail safe mode every few block down the road. About to pull hair out. Finally one day it throws it between every light in the damn city and eventually throws the damn P2105 and car has no signal between the pedal and TB. Car is able to restart, but no signal. After a few love taps on the stock TB it work again, but back to it normal 2135/2106 BS. Orders FRPP 62mm to replace POS TB.
POS TB replaced with FRPP TB and all is well. But car does seem to like the load in 3rd gear. I did not believe it was the TB this time. Car drives like normal in normal driving style.
December:
Schedule Custom Dyno tune by Pro-Dyno. Pro-Dyno replaces a old HT0 with a new set of HT0. They said the gap wasn't set on the old plugs (stock .040) and may caused the 3rd gear load issues (spark blow out). New gap at .032. New catted UPR x-pipe install. Dyno tuned by Dan. Car runs like beast. All is well.
January:
Notice driveability issues under load while in part throttle in higher gears. Mentioned to a few shops and the tune seemed to be the problem. Lived with it.
March:
Tune get worse during cruise and mildly rough idle. Threw one lean code once and never again. Car had a slight buck at low speed cruise.
April:
Same thing as above but a little worse. Wrench light fail safe comes on with 2135 and 2106 comes on once. I drive a few more days, just the tune issues again. Try Whipple tune, and everything is perfect again but throttle response left more to be desired, but feel great after driving under a slowly degrading tune.
May:
Car throw the 2135 and 2106 codes with fail safe mode every few block down the road. About to pull hair out. One shop on here says their mail order tune can fix it. The other says a factory computer reset (battery disconnect with other stuff) first would be worth a try. I attempted to reflash back with ProCal and the ProCal says this now: "err= init fl 001"
Im lost on this car. It's a frickin simple whipple kit that everyone and there mother has and yes I've searched. Most 2135/2106 threads go no where on any forum and I've tried all the fixes. Its like my car like eating TB and rejecting tunes.
