I am looking to purchase the CS67 wheels and find conflicting information.

On one site the 18x9.5 are specifically said to fit all around. Then, on the Carol Shelby site it says "rear only" for the 18x9.5's.

Then when you click "Wheels that fit big brakes" on the Shelby site, the CS67 wheels are removed. Then, on two seperate sites the wheels are listed as "designed specfifically for large calipers/Brake kits".

I will be going with the Ford Racong SVT Big Brake Kit with the Brembo's which 'look' smaller than the GT500 or Brembo direct kits.

So my questions are:

A) Does anyone know if the CS67s would fit over the Ford Racing SVT BBK? If not that is fine because I would sacrifice the brake kit over the wheels.

B) Would the 18x9.5 Wheels fit up front? If not, then is staggering the wheels safe or would 18x8.5 at all 4 corners handle better than staggered wheels?

I would like to go 275/45R18 rear and 255/45R18 front if possible on 18x8.5 and 18x9.5.

If not then 265/45 r18 all around if I get 4 18x8.5's.

I plan on lowering the vehicle with the Steeda sport springs. So I don't know how much that will affect tire selection.

18x9.5 should fit up front. that's what the gt500s come with stock all the way around. I am running 9.5 on the front of my car and there are people running 10s with no issues.

yes

yes and staggered cures the problem of over-steer, much like porsches

You should run a xxx/35/18

Wow? 10 inches, huh? These cars are so different than any of the imports I have ever owned. That is pretty amazing.

Wow? CURES oversteer? It would seem that less tire up front would promote oversteer. FWD is so different. A lot of what I know doesn't even apply! Is it because the lack of grip up front keeps it straight making it more predictable?

Also 35? Even with just a 1" drop?

Thanks a ton guys!

yeah a 10" wheel will fit upfront without spacers!

As for the oversteer, yeah it makes a huge difference.

I had a set of these wheels and sold them.

They will not clear big brakes.

I recommend 8.5 on the front with 255/45 tires and 9.5 on the rear with 285/40.

Here is a picture of mine when I had those on.

The Hell? No way you should run a 35 profile on an 18" unless it's a 305 tire. Stock is a 235/50/18 Even a 275 or 285 should be a 40 profile on 18" wheels

Yeah having more tire in the rear compensates for the lack of camber to a degree and having more tire in the rear helps keep the rear from whipping around. however you would probably be just as good running a 275 on all four corners.

And NO TO 35 SERIES! I run 40 series tires on a 19" Rim.

I run 255 45 on the front 18 x 9.5 and 285 40 rear same wheel

This is a money suggestion. Same thing that GT500s come with stock. It gives you a nice stagger for hella swagger. It also handles pretty decent too. You could even run 275/40 on all 4 corners if you dared, but i would personally do that on a 10" rim. with the 9.5, the 255 up front will give you better steering response beacause of the sidewall tension of a narrower tire on a wider rim. In the back the 275 or 285 on that 9.5 will increase your traction.

Well thanks all for your input. I think I am going to stock to staggered wheels. 8.5 and 9.5. The BBK issue is still unsure since I'm getting different answers. I will just go with slotted rotors and upgraded pads to be safe. If I meet someone with a SVT BBK, maybe I'll swap to check. Otherwise, I'll play it safe. Thanks again, everyone.
