Is it possible? Of course. With that budget? I wouldn't think so.
You'll have to spend a lot of time diagnosing and addressing all electrical features you're looking to retain. The SmartJunction box in these cars communicates with the stock ECU, so that'd probably have to be bypassed in order...
Same here! I have Borla cat-back pipes and they've been bent with less clearance over the axle. I've cut my bumpstops to the solid base and they smack pretty good on bigger bumps.
Side exit exhaust seems to be the only route :(
Back in February a friend and I completed a 4.6 swap into an '07 chassis (v6 chassis). Like you describe, once everything was ready to crank over, nothing would happen upon turning the ignition. Turned out he had an extra security measure installed in his dash harness from the dealership - even...
you're gonna have to be patient if you don't want to spend a ton.
a buddy and i are doing the same swap in his car soon. we found the drivetrain searching inventories through car-part.com. had to piece some things together, but it looks like we're good to go.
definitely find the wrecked donor...
Maybe you can try dropping off the end links and raising the rear-end to ride height, then reattaching and checking the clearance?
I recall reading, not exactly sure where though, about a similar issue and apparently Jim at Fays2 said it was no big deal. I'll try to find that info if I can...
Don't the Shelby's come from the factory already lowered? Maybe that's why they didn't need the extra adjustment holes. I like that blue though!
Question for everyone that's installed one of these... How long did it take you to get the frame in place? I swear I spent a good two hours trying...
Is that at full droop? I just installed mine yesterday but didn't need to let the rear-end hang so I didn't notice any issues with contact.
What a nice difference it makes too!!!
