What are your winter projects and performance goals for 2014?

Roll bar, brake ducts, bigger brakes, and this: It'll be tough to get to all of these in between track day weekends :)

    4.0 Engine (V8) Swap...

Is it possible? Of course. With that budget? I wouldn't think so. You'll have to spend a lot of time diagnosing and addressing all electrical features you're looking to retain. The SmartJunction box in these cars communicates with the stock ECU, so that'd probably have to be bypassed in order...

Lowered guys - Do you cut your rear bumpstops?

Same here! I have Borla cat-back pipes and they've been bent with less clearance over the axle. I've cut my bumpstops to the solid base and they smack pretty good on bigger bumps. Side exit exhaust seems to be the only route :(

help- chime in on my PATS issue

Back in February a friend and I completed a 4.6 swap into an '07 chassis (v6 chassis). Like you describe, once everything was ready to crank over, nothing would happen upon turning the ignition. Turned out he had an extra security measure installed in his dash harness from the dealership - even...

you're gonna have to be patient if you don't want to spend a ton. a buddy and i are doing the same swap in his car soon. we found the drivetrain searching inventories through car-part.com. had to piece some things together, but it looks like we're good to go. definitely find the wrecked donor...

    Watts Link Install Questions

Here's one instance of someone having a similar issue to yours (read post #7) http://s197forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=79002&highlight=fays2

    Watts Link Install Questions

Maybe you can try dropping off the end links and raising the rear-end to ride height, then reattaching and checking the clearance? I recall reading, not exactly sure where though, about a similar issue and apparently Jim at Fays2 said it was no big deal. I'll try to find that info if I can...

    Watts Link Install Questions

Don't the Shelby's come from the factory already lowered? Maybe that's why they didn't need the extra adjustment holes. I like that blue though! Question for everyone that's installed one of these... How long did it take you to get the frame in place? I swear I spent a good two hours trying...

    Watts Link Install Questions

Is that at full droop? I just installed mine yesterday but didn't need to let the rear-end hang so I didn't notice any issues with contact. What a nice difference it makes too!!!

    J&M Plates popping

did it pop prior to your alignment? i'm pretty sure the spherical bearings went out on mine. J&M, as far as I remember, has a lifetime warranty on the plates. I just need to send them back. Check your strut rod nuts (middle of plates, accessible through the engine bay).

Follower ate up. what would cause this??

Read this: http://iihs.net/fsm/?dir=165&viewfile=Camshaft%20-%20RH.pdf If it's one of the three followers that are supposed to be removed prior to taking out the camshaft, then no (brilliant, yes?). Otherwise yes. You will need a valve spring compressor tool and timing chain wedge for this...

Good Idea or Bad Idea To Trim?

I cut the bumpstops for more travel. My drop is about 1/4" lower than the Eibach Pro-Kit drop. As a side note, I noticed my Roush Trak Pak shocks came with their own bumpstops as well. No, they are not true rear coilovers like griggs or other setups use - they are the separated shock and...

Good Idea or Bad Idea To Trim?

Since it's purely compression, I highly doubt you'll see any fatigue worth worrying about as a result of cutting these. They are fairly firm, especially closest to the rear-end. 4 years ago I trimmed my bumpstops when I purchase some Eibach Pro-Kit springs. 2 full suspension setups later (and...

18x10 wheel for track use, vorshlag?

Not sure if it'll make a difference, but a closer reading of their description states their production wheels are 1lb heavier than said 19.2 lbs but rated for 1800 lbs each. Still not bad for 20 lb wheels... I've been looking a lot into enkei RP03s which come 18x9.5 +38. They are 21lbs each but...

    WTB 2005-09 Passenger Side Mirror

Busted the housing on my passenger side mirror this morning... If anyone has a spare mirror for the passenger side of an 05-09 mirror, let me know please! My motor and mirror are still good so if anyone has a gutted mirror (like from swapping to agent 47 mirrors or something) that'd be...

    Front Wheel Bearing

So far this is really the only advantage I can see. And yes, I've flat-spotted a couple times now. Just bought me a pair of oem hubs from rockauto and getting ready to install one - it's been long overdue.
