Timkin seems to be the OEM part. The Timkin hub I installed from Rock Auto had FORD stampings on it just like the hub I removed. I replaced the passenger side after smacking a curb and noticed the wheel would wobble a little when I had it off the ground. It came with the grease dabs on it to help prevent corrosion between the hub and the wheel.

Timken's part# HA590017 is for ABS so I would need that part # as apposed to #HA590026 for non-ABS.

I thought 2005+ model year Mustangs all had ABS?

Seal caps are separate, I usually just reuse mine if I can get the existing ones off w/o puncturing them. You will also need a new retainer nut, they are one-time-use only and must be replaced when you do the hub.

Yep that is the one. Can get it from RockAuto for half that price, however. Not sure if it includes the free shipping, though.

You could easily be done in two hours. I recommend using air tools if you have them available. You will need a torque wrench capable of 221 ft-lbs to torque the spindle nut. The spindle nut requires either a 35 or 36mm socket as well.

I did mine a few months ago... I Didn't have symptoms like yours, mine felt more like a bad tierod.... I assumed autocrossing is what wore mine out, I'd guess the same with you.

They are really easy to do, just make sure you've got a massive socket for the nut and a good torque wrench to get it torqued. An impact wrench would be nice too.

I also was quoted around $100/piece wherever I looked for the factory style ones.

So I looked up the ford racing FR500 hubs... They're supposedly heavy duty and also come with really nice 3" ARP studs. They are $200 and are sold as a pair. (I was quoted $150 for ONE oem ford one).
I bought the FR500 ones and saved money over regular hubs... not a bad deal. The only thing to be aware of is the super long studs if that bothers you, and you need open ended studs... but for all the tire swapping I do when I race, I'm very happy with the change.

Per ford parts website, fr500C wheels "Requires .625" studs; will not work with stock Mustang wheel studs" Sooo, no issues with these? do you know if you got fr500S hubs maybe? duno if theyre even different between the C and S

I was concerned with that a bit but i saw no mention on LMR, so I figured I should just order them, and it worked out fine for me.
The threads ended up being the same. I just had to remove the caps on my lug nuts so they were open. (I ordered the (FRPP) M-1104-A)

Helps you not flat-spot your tires

So far this is really the only advantage I can see.

And yes, I've flat-spotted a couple times now.

Just bought me a pair of oem hubs from rockauto and getting ready to install one - it's been long overdue.
