    First suspension mod? 06 GT

The axle hop these cars experience when stock absolutely ruins the fun IMHO. LCAs with stiffer bushings do a pretty good job of mitigating that.

    First suspension mod? 06 GT

Rear LCAs are a must, decent shocks/struts make a big difference and everything else you listed is nice to have as well. My stance is that the rear sway bar makes a bigger difference than the front. For a primarily street driven car, I like the combination of a 24mm rear bar from a GT500 or...

Electric cutout before H pipe and performance.

OP specifically mentioned having the cutouts before (I assume meaning upstream) of the H-pipe. Are we all sure that has no detrimental effects? That would mean all the OEMs have been installing crossovers on their dual exhaust systems for no reason. My understanding is that the crossover...

    FITMENT AND SIZE

+40 is a hair aggressive on the back for a 10" wide wheel but with a 275, I wouldn't expect any rubbing so long as the axle is close to centered. Up front, it should land somewhere between flush and slightly tucked depending on how much camber you're running. A 275/35-18 is a smaller than stock...

    Traction control constant on

Wheel speed sensors don't get changed with the GT500 brakes so incompatibility isn't the issue. Doesn't mean they aren't bad but I've never had a failed wheel speed sensor do anything more than trip a light and disable ABS/TC.

Didn't the supercharged 3V Roush cars come with the stock air box?

Which fuel pump for whipple supercharged 2005 Mustang GT

The passenger side is indeed stock and there is no pump on that side, just a fuel level sending unit. The pump assembly on the driver side appears to be a no-name parts store special which always brings the possibility the sending unit was faulty from the start. The drop in Walbro 400lph...

Just purchased 2006 GT with mods questions

If you can post a picture of the headers, someone may be able to identify them. I don't believe it matters much for tuning purposes though. My tuner never asked what brand mine were, just long tubes: yes or no? You can have it retuned for 87 if you want. It will take a long time to recover the...

Rack restrictor options for a 08 GT

Ford makes steering rack limiters. Part number 6R3Z-3932-CA. Someone posted a "how-to" here: https://www.s197forum.com/threads/installation-guide-for-ford-6r3z-3932-ca-steering-rack-restrictor-on-a-2013-installation-guide-for-ford-6r3z-3932-ca-steering-rack-restrictor-2013.154390/

New to the S197 Community What’s Your Favorite Mod?

Rear lower control arms. The axle hop these cars suffer from in stock form is atrocious. It's the one mod I wish I had done the day I bought the car. Second would be a combination of poly engine mounts and a decent shifter for manual trans cars because the shift feel in stock form is... you...

    Off road x pipe

You will get a MIL for catalyst efficiency below threshold. As far as I know, no reputable tuner will supply a tune with the rear O2 sensors turned off anymore so you're stuck with workaround solutions. There is effectively no power to be gained by going catless on these cars so why bother...

Which of these (modded Bullitt vs GT500)

The Bullitt is basically just a GT with some OE appearance mods. Any collectability value went out the window when the blower went on and an otherwise identical GT might be worth half of that $33k asking price. They did have 15 extra HP and 3.73s over a base GT which are nice if you're keeping...

Want to know engine oil temps

I have one of these in my car. There is no oil temp PID available that I have found. Scangauge only lists oil temp PID for Diesel trucks in the Ford section. I incorrectly stated there isn't a sensor. There is a sensor in the pan on early cars as others have said, but it seems the PCM doesn't...

Want to know engine oil temps

There is no oil temp sensor on the '05-'10s so nothing that plugs into the OBD port is going to help. You can remove the OE oil pressure sensor (behind the oil filter), install a 1/4" NPT tee and then run a temp sensor along side it.

Which of these s650's would you rather

If someone is offering me one of those two at no cost, I'm taking the DH. However, like several others have expressed, there is zero chance I'm ever buying either with my own money.

    Need help deciding what wheels..

I like the design of the MCA wheel but they tuck way too much. Need an 8-10mm spacer to make them look right. I won't recommend running a spacer that thick so the GT500 style wheel gets my vote between those two.

    One more will it fit?

...And now for a correction on myself... it turns out there may actually be an interference issue between the S197 wheel bearing dust cap and the center cap on these particular S550 wheels. So, I guess test fit one on the front of your car before buying.

    One more will it fit?

These are S550 wheels, not S197. That said, they will fit fine. Offset is slightly less than OE S197 spec but not nearly enough to cause tire poke. OP, I believe those are 18X8, not 18X8.5. Not a big deal unless you wanted to put wider tires on eventually.

    2005-2009 mustang design changes

It has 1.1" more rear leg room and 0.1" more up front. The rest of the 4.4" overall length and 5.8" wheelbase increase seemingly vanished into thin air. Nobody with shins can sit behind me in either car. Calling the S197 a proper 4 seater is a huge stretch IMO.

    2005-2009 mustang design changes

Car should have been kept closer to the size of the SN95. The proportions look better than the '04 IMO but not much of the exterior size increase seems to have translated to the inside. Gaining 100 lbs. over the previous generation and then putting on a narrower tire also seems like a weird...

    Respraying 2012 GT500 wheels

Not the same wheel but refinished a set of the base '11-'12 GT500 wheels myself after curbing one. Took any bad spots in the original finish to bare metal, shot those spots with self etching 2-part primer, wet sanded everywhere with 220-grit, sprayed 2-part high build primer, wet-sanded with...

First mods, sub frames, swaybar relo?

We're generally inclined to "feel a big difference" after laying out our hard earned cash for parts. I don't have any chassis stiffening mods on my car so I won't tell you they don't do anything but the S197 coupe unibody measures 50% stiffer in torsion than a C7 Corvette and 90% as stiff as a...

    3v mustang mt82 swap

There's a YouTube video showing a supposedly successful MT-82 swap in an '06 GT. Apparently a Dakota Digital SGI-100BT speedo/tach interface was the trick to getting the stock speedometer to function but there is zero info on how it was wired in. As far as I can see, Dakota makes no claim that...

Coyote Swap for an uneducated chud

Swapping everything over to another S197 (especially another '11-'12 car) is certainly going to be the easiest. It will be 95+% remove everything from your car and bolt it on to the same spot in the other car. Being able to use all of the wiring from the donor will save a ton of hours.
