Awesome. Been wanting to do this for a while. I have the 2012 gt500 steering wheel and it is already blue that and I have mycolor. Need everything else.

Can you figure out the stupid autometer gauges? I have the autometer phantom II fuel pressure and boost. The WB is the Autometer phantom. They are all LED but the phantom II are white where the WB is red.

While you are in the shaker.. can you build a interface so I can use the stereo buttons on the GT500 steering wheel?

PM replied to.

I have a set of AutoMeter gauges in my car I am going to convert to red. I've seen the LED setup in there and it looks pretty simple.

I sent you a price for the interior package. Let me look into the gauges to be sure I can do them before I price that. Shouldn't be much. I think the biggest PITA is removing the trim ring to get to the internals.

Crappy pic but this is these are the Phantom II and Phantom WB. I love how the numbers are backlit, not the gauge face but wish I could get them in red or maybe blue.

I would want blue for the door switches, steering buttons, and center panel stuff (minus shaker system). How hard would it be to do myself? I have done quite of bit of audio installs so I'm familiar with wiring... Is any soldering involved? and how much would it be just for materials for me to do the install? Thanks

The door locks and window switches are just standard 3mm thru-hole LED's. The others are PLCC-2 LED's..and they are TINY.

And yes...there's lots of soldering required. All of them infact are soldered.

Just remember if the gauges are opened or tampered with at all, you'll lose the Auto Meter warranty on the gauges. But long as there is no sign of it being tampered with you should be good to go.

Do you do stepper motor replacements? My fuel gauge and oil pressure crapped out on me. I have all six motors (the upgraded ones) but I suck at soldering stuff.

I have a bad cluster here on my bench that I've been wanting to swap the stepper motors on for a while...just haven't gotten around to it.

PM me and we'll see what we can work out.

I have the auto meter cool bolt gauges and the LEDs on my A/F gauge are starting to die. I was wondering if you can fix these and also change the color in them, like say make them green instead of blue. Also, have you ever messed with the aero force gauges and maybe changed blue ones to green?

I haven't messed with the autometer gauges, but I've seen pics of the insides and they look to have the exact same LED's that I use so I feel confident it can be done. Hardest or trickiest part is taking them apart from what I understand.

I'm not sure on the Aeroforce ones....never seen the insides before.

If you want to take a crack at opening one of your gauges up I'm sure I can change it. I plan to try to do mine in the next week or so as I"ve changed my interior to red.
