So my belt keeps slipping and recent mechanic said my supercharger pulley is a 5 grove instead of a 6 not sure how to order a 6 grove or if its a x-charger grove store or if its even a issue and something is stuck? I just bought this few weeks ago really would like to save it

I would say contact the manufacturer. It looks like you have alignment issues. The belt is frayed on the outer edge.

IMG_3513.jpegYou can see where the belt is off, as in not running in the right spot. The belt is rubbing on something. It's hard to tell, but you may need to loosen the supercharger and move it forward. There is some play there. You need to know what you are doing to accomplish this. I'm going to bed. I'll check in tomorrow.

Xcharger has gone closed business so you can't contact them anymore. But if you go to Facebook and look for the page for Mustang Collective, many of the members there had Xcharger cars and may have manuals and such that can help you.

Count the grooves in all of your pulleys, is there a difference? Clean the grooves in all of your pulleys, need to be sure no piece of belt in a groove. Check the tensioner for play and check it and the idler pulleys. Use a straight edge or a string and check alignment of the pulleys.

I’d suggest finding another mechanic who can properly diagnose the problem. I agree that it could be a pulley alignment issue. Could there be anything catching the front edge of the belt causing it to fray, like maybe a protruding hose clamp end or something?

Is that belt missing an entire rib on the edge closest to the radiator!?

Need to look from one of the fenders across the pulleys and see if they all line up and have the same rib count. Then I would also look, as others said, for interference anywhere that could fray it like that.. in your first picture it sure looks like the tensioner in the lower left corner is pushing it against that metal fitting..

Highly unlikely that any of those pulleys are 5 rib. Remember, you're counting the number of valleys. Each ribbed pulley should have 6. Then, take it off and take the belt into an auto parts store to get measured. Might want to go 1/4 to 1/2 inch tighter if that belt seems stretched. No idea what the original part number would be. Perhaps someone has an installation manual out there somewhere for the X-charger. Should be in there.

Take the belt off and check all of the pulleys and idlers. Are the bearings good? Are any hard to turn? Are any loose which would also cause alignment issues. Fix any issues. Then buy a new belt, maybe a bit shorter as stated above and see what happens from there.
