I was able to ekk a touch over 700rwhp with my 2.6 @ 21psi on E85.it took a lot to get there with that blower. It's about out of steam ~ 650 rwhp.

Roush tvs 2.3, how much can it make?

I figured the 2.6 would get around 700rwhp easily. Aren't people making that with 2.3Ls?

I made 698 on race fuel with the TVS1900. All depends on your supporting mods. The KB is a heat pump though, runs way too hot.

700 is not easy with the 2.6. You have to spin it so high it's way out of it's efficiency range.

Found decent deals on both the 2.6 kb, and the Roush 2.3.

Wondering the differences. I figured the kb would br capable of more because it's a bigger blower

I'm thinking 600s on 93 pump gas, I just don't want to lose to low boost coyotes

Are you set on a KB or even PD blower? It gets difficult to make higher levels of power with a pd unless it's big. Something like a 2.9, 3.4, or 4.0 Whipple would be your best bet imo.

It's not nearly as hard or as expensive with a good centri. Think Procharger D1SC, Vortech YSI, or another centri that allows for high compressor wheel rpms.

Compressor size sure doesn't hurt. But inlet size has a LOT to with how a PD blower works.

You will have a tough time making over 630-640hp with a Roush TVS, Whipple H.O 2.3L or a KB 2.6L. Making over 600hp on pump is not the easiest thing in the world with the "little" blowers.

If I were going for 600-650 on pump I would go with a 2013 GT500 TVS, Department Of Boost GT450 manifold, stock heads, maybe even stock cams, stock crank, good rods and good pistons. You can spend more money, you won't make any more power though. Just less boost.

I haven't played with a Centri for a long time (went PD and never looked back). How can they make more power than a PD blower can on pump? From what I have seen the limit is in most cases the fuel (total boost), not what the blower can actually make??? Unless you do something to drop the boost (bigger motor, bigger heads, bigger cams, etc) you just run out of what can be made on 93 don't you?

On the dyno I use all of the 3v blowers (except mine) seem to run all about the same on 93.

Granted I know there is some wiggle room. I picked up 100hp switching from a 2.6KB to a 3.4L Whipple at the exact same boost on an otherwise identical setup. The 3.4L is a bit of a different animal though. I'm not even sure you could slow it down enough to make 600hp.:roflmao:

With my stage II KB 2.6 on 93 octane, smallest recommended pulley, a little over 18 psi, right at 600 at the wheels through an automatic.
Pretty-much max'd out, although e85 would have added a little more.

If your power goals are 700-max, then yeah, a 2.6 can get you there, or close.

Huh? How is 600 close to 700?:chainsaw:

There is the pump gas issue. I was referring to my experiences with a 2.3 Whipple that made 553 on pump at 17psi and 599 on E85 at 15psi. Due to the inlet it didn't make much more power past 15-16psi.

My experiences with centris are that they make hp easier. They don't have the instant torque or even as much torque but hp is fairly easy.

A Paxton 1200 at 10psi made 570rwhp on E85 iirc. Same setup on 92 pump was 526.

My D1 was real easy to make power with. 699rwhp at 19psi with E85. All of these numbers are through the stock cats.

The faster you spin a centri the more it makes. A pd makes peak boost early and stays relatively steady throughout the pull. As you know this is why we like the pd on the street, instant torque.

Those have been my experiences. Not apples to apples though, different motors of stock displacement. It does mirror what I see at dyno days. The big power motors are running a centri or turbo.

I've said it before and it's still true. The internet jades us and changes what we think is acceptable. I really like having a street car that makes right at 550 or so. It's pretty hard to use any more than that and it takes some of the fun out of it due to the increased concentration required when driving.

The Roush TVS is leaps and bounds over the other two.

You can get it with dual FEAD and forget about belt issues (I know you can get an steeda or a whipple drive but is way more expensive than Roush solution), it handle heat way better the other too.

Top power with pump? when people is going to learn?

I thought top psi at the pump was a thing, not horsepower?

Okay, well, the kb is better than my M90 no doubt anyway. Let me ask something else. How much would you say a full kenne bell kit is worth, minus spark plugs and tuner. Includes injectors and BAP.
