I have an oil leak at the back of the engine oil pan and think it may be coming from those 2 bolts. The dealer just replaced the rear seal and seal retainer plate. There is no oil at all inside the bellhousing. So it is either leaking out of the oil pan gasket (they did not drop the pan and replace the oil pan gasket) or those 2 bolts.

Can anyone tell me if the 2 rear most oil pan bolts that thread into the rear seal retainer plate require thread sealant to prevent an oil leak? Or are those 2 threaded holes in the seal retainer plate blind holes and the threads of those 2 bolts are never exposed to oil?

That is correct, those bolts are NOT exposed to oil. If this was work done by the dealer take it back and have them fix it.
