I have an 06 gt with some basic bolt ons. Throttle body, long tube pypes headers w/ off road xpipe, pullies, and Jlt intake. I use the sct tuner. Today I was on the freeway got on the throttle at 4th then went over to 5th. Threw it back in neutral to let it roll and when I got back on it I shifted into 5th gear and right away I get the low pressure/no pressure on my dash. Would could it be?

New motor

Internal oil leakage like what i had
Bad oil sending unit sensor like 9$ for a new one
Or a cracked Oil pump gears

Drain oil and see what u can find, might have to remove oil to inspect a little more.
Also did u keep driving it after the light came on?

Did the light just come on for a second and go out? Seen that happen a quite a few times for no apparent reason, wont hurt to check you sender and oil level, change the oil and inspect it etc.

The wire leading away from my oil pressure light sending unit broke at the connector down by the filter and caused the dash light to come on. I just disassembled the connector, soldered the wire on the pin and reinstalled.....problem fixed. Check that wire first.

It only happened for a second then went away. I turned the car off right away.. let it roll then turned it back on and it drove fine. How can i check the oil sender or the oil pump? any help would be appreciated.thanks.

I would start by checking the oil level like one eyed willy said. Do you have a stock pan? as far as the sensor, not really expensive so I would change them out to see if your current one is faulty. as far as the oil pump...good luck, must pull motor apart for that one. If you gears were to break, you'd know it. first step in that would be to check the oil for metal flakes, etc.

Check ur cooling fan. If that doesn't turn on, and ur oil/ coolant temp gets high, you will drop very low oil pressure at idle. 2-3psi with ECT (engine coolant temp) above 220, only at idle rpm.

If he were sitting in traffic or driving stop and go, that would be a possibility, but he was on the freeway, plenty of airflow

If you were to lose oil pressure you would start hearing the chains slap the timing cover and it would start bucking from lack of vct. no response leads me to believe it to be low oil level in which case,,,, i dont think id respond.
