Got ready to leave for work and hopped in the car. Turn the key and got all the dash lights and radio up but didn't even try and crank. None of the usual dead battery sounds from the starter. But electrical and lights work fine.

Pulled battery and got a ride and had it checked. Voltage was like 12.7 and charge was 80%. Put the battery on a charger at the house overnight till the indicator said full, this one ( Vector Smart Charger ) in fact and hauled it back to work. Reinstalled in the car and still no start and not even clicking or anything.

Is this a bad starter or something else? I don't know what else to look at and the car is 30 minutes from the house of course.

We're going to try and jump it from cables in the morning and see if I can get it home before I have to tow it again sigh.

While you're checking the fuses (#4 is the starter fuse), also check the starter relay. Standing on the passenger side, it's the one in the bottom left corner (#22). Above and to the right of the starter relay is #24, for the A/C clutch, swap them.

I had a similar issue with my 07 and it was the starter. Trying turning the key like 5-10 times quick and see if it cranks.

Could still be the battery. When my last battery died, I had my lights work and radio turn on but the car wouldnt even try to crank. Replaced the battery and the car started right up.

Only mods are full exhuast, no codes on the tuner. I have not checked the fuses yet, I work nights and couldn't see crap in the dark when I got off.

Noted and I will look at that this evening.

We are going to try and jump start it tonight and see if that works but the battery is less than a year old so if that's the case then it's killing batteries for some reason. sigh.

Jump start did not work. Fuses look good. I now suspect the anti theft bullshjt has malfunctioned. Going to try and find my 2 me key and see if that one will work.

try disconnecting the positive terminal from the battery then shorting the ( + ) cable to the (-) cable. ive had this work for p.a.t.s. issues on older mustangs. you might try checking the nuetral switch on the clutch pedal, i just had to replace one for this problem.

Got it started yay! It was a PATS issue. When the Pats is tripped the computer will not engage the starter.

Got it started by putting the key in and turning ignition to on. Left it in the on position 20 minutes while I ate lunch.

After lunch I got in an turned it from on to accessory and back 3 times. Then I attempted to start the car and it fired up.

Glad you got it figured out. My wife has been driving my car for the past week and now the lock light flashes when the car is off. It does not flash when driving and the car runs fine but the lock light never flashed when the car was off before she started driving it. I am concerned I might have a PATS issue.

Pretty sure that's normal
